You expected a large tree, maybe a vertical dungeon of some kind. Instead, what you're greeted with is an entire world. Grass, rocks, rivers, even hard-beaten dirt paths that weave through the hills and valleys created by the massive building-sized trunks that reach up to the heavens. "I thought this was a tree!" Eiji exclaims upon seeing it all, neck craned up like a tourist in Tokyo. "It's huge!" Duh! It's not just 'a tree', it's the World Tree! The heart and the lifeforce of nine worlds! What were you expecting, a cute little garden? There's a note of pride in Ratatoskr's... 'voice', and it hops from branch to branch above you, leading you further away from the cavern. Don't fall behind, if you get lost there's no finding you again! "Wait, do you mean like, literally wander-forever, or-" Shut up! I see Shadows! Eiji's question is cut off, though he doesn't seem particularly put out, instead grasping his makeshift spear tightly. Sneak up quietly so we can beat some answers out of 'em! Sure enough, just on the other side of a tangle of large root-branches, you can see them. Some kind of ram, and two dancing blue lights floating around it. They'd almost look like they belonged were it not for the way Ratatoskr insists they don't. "I'll follow your lead, Kumiko." Well, that just isn't fair. They've got healing magic! Ratatoskr's voice shouts in your head, confirming what you already knew. You're not going to win a battle of attrition! "I noticed!" Eiji, now circling with the shadow and trying to keep it at bay, peeks back over his shoulder at you. The confidence he had just a moment before has faltered, not that you can blame him. "Hey, Kumiko, how about that plan?!" 1] "You've got one, right?" A) "Not a clue!" B) "Don't need one!" C) "Working on it!" D) Write-in Before you've even finished speaking, something hits you in the side of the head and you stumble. > Fairy(?) attacks Kumiko! > Dealt 50 Strike damage! > Kumiko's HP: 300/400 It hurts like getting hit by a thrown rock, but blurry eyes turned in the direction of the source reveal it to have been one of the fairies, which is now hovering a couple feet away and readying itself to charge again. It's surprisingly menacing for a knock-off Tinkerbell. 2] So, what IS the plan? A) Attack the fairy! > Aa) Attack! [Roll +Courage] > Ab) Flaming sword!
