The most obvious thing should have always been the way he described (and acted) his relationship with these kids. I've done lots of work with kids, I love working with kids. Kids are fun as hell and a blast to interact with. But you go into daddy (or mommy) mode, or if you still have illusions of your youth you can call it big bro/sis whatever. But you enter this happy fulfilling maybe instinctual older person mode. Absolutely nothing about it comes down to ... acting like a kid, hanging out with them like a literal peer or whatever he always seems to try to describe his thing as. It's so insanely opposite my experience and just.... Like how didn't anyone see this coming from a mile away? Even before 1993?

A lot of people did see it coming from a mile away. The accusations and rumors have existed his whole adult career. I really don't know anyone that is utterly shocked about MJ being a pedo. It's disappointing for sure, but we all knew it.

People were making jokes about Michael Jackson loving boys when Dangerous came out, and that was 2 years before the first formal accusation was made against him.

As a horror movie fan, there's Polanski and Salva to deal with when looking at the movies they've done. When it came out about Marion Zimmer Bradley, all my friends who loved her books were a mess over what she did and it ruined the books for them. It's one of those personal decision things where you have to decide what you're okay with. GOD loving DAMMIT. Somebody mentioned Bradley in the Ursula K. LeGuin thread but I thought they were just dissing her writing, it didn't click with me the meaning behind condemning her in the same breath as Orson Scott Card. Why is everyone so horrible???

In Old Hollywood it was common for any GLB actors/actresses to get straight married but also have their 'sporting club' or 'sewing circle' group where their lover was because the Studio Heads ordered them to under threat of ruining them completely.

When did Norm Macdonald mmake all those "Michael Jackson Iis a homosexual pedophile" jokes on SNL? Seems like forever ago.... I've always wwondered what the British tabloids had on MJ....the UK media in general seemed to have a lot less reverance for him than the US media did.

They did it, an MJ song played randomly on my stereo and I tried and couldn’t enjoy it. drat IT Jam (it up a little boy’s bum and then deny it) We Are The World (collectively denying a pedo sang this, cos he’s got rhythm!) Leave Me Alone (to diddle kids) Another Part of Me (you have to tongue) She’s Out Of My Life (because I’m into boys now) Beat it

Safechuck claimed he was abused by MJ from 1988 to 1992, specifically naming the Neverland train station as one of the locations of abuse, but apparently someone discovered that the Santa Barbara county construction permit for the train station wasn’t even approved until September 2, 1993.

Cool, "someone" cracked the case. Let's pack it all up folks, MJ was normal and not an abuser, my apologies to his estate, we will be sending flowers.

Doesn’t mean it didn’t happen, but it does mean that if the abuse really happened, it didn’t stop until at least two years later than what Safechuck claimed in the doc. E: the “someone” is a Jackson biographer named Mike Smallcombe, who I’d never heard of before but at least the permit seems to be legit. empty baggie fucked around with this message at 03:53 on Apr 3, 2019 |

Another possibility is the permit could've been post facto. Obviously that's not usually okay, but I'm guessing if you're that big a celebrity you may not be sweating the paperwork

I think maybe more than any other thing, adult men molesting little children, perhaps especially boys, is something people in general try to acknowledge the LEAST. There is a gender aspect to this-- in our hosed up world when a girl tells us she was molested it's terrible, awful, and almost par for the course. When a boy is molested by a woman it's "well he must have loved it!" And if by a man I swear to God our reaction is to pretend we just didn't hear. Because it gets into people's perceptions not only of pedophilia but also sexual orientation and power. Serious posting: I was molested as a little kid by an older male. So my perspective on this is colored by personal experience-- Trying to tell someone, it is the kind of thing that falls on deaf ears. So you try to justify it: "I'm a man, I'm supposed to like sex. I'm not a victim." And you put it away and bury it. Getting the dates right about everything is hard for me. Coming forward and calling it what it really was took decades of therapy, not to mention having to break drug addiction I'd developed as coping methods. It's the hardest thing I've ever done, to find a way to make peace with the adults in my life who turned their eyes and attention away from it, because they so didn't want it to be true. I believe Michael Jackson was extraordinarily talented. I believe he was equally hosed up. And I believe he passed that on to others who have spent a lifetime coming to terms with being hurt by their idol. I idolized who hurt me too, but I can't imagine the added pressure of the entire world knowing their name.

Those Jackson estate lawyers are at it again "Neverland Firsthand" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4trDbeFWTY “He’s saying that he was in a relationship with my uncle, that they were in love, and that they were having a relationship, if you will. He’s saying that my uncle kept him from women, which is not true. We were just talking about how my uncle put us together. It would discredit the things that he’s trying to claim, and I find it fascinating that he thinks he’s able to just erase 10 years of his life,” Brandi stated. Brandi also went on to say that if she saw Wade, she would confront him about his lies. She added that she is not curious as to why he is lying, but just that he needs to stop, especially since Michael took care of him and was good to him and his family.

There is an elementary school auditorium in Hollywood named after MJ. There was some backlash from parents who wanted it taken down. The school put it up to a vote and LMAO everyone voted to keep it up. Kinda amazing really.
