I've always liked one of his less-known books, Scrambled Eggs Super. It's goofy and there's no lesson or anything, it's just about a kid who collects eggs from a bunch of made-up birds and makes a big thing of scrambled eggs.

When I read the Lorax or Cat in the Hat I make sure to take a lungful at the start of each page but I think I'd pass out reading that deep cut.
