A PC has access to every pc gaming deal and freebie so I’m not sure why you’re singling out Humble choice which gives you more games anyway.

They also just sent me an email offering me $9/month for six months on Humble Choice Premium (which I can cancel prematurely) and I imagine others have gotten the same offer.

I haven't even given Epic my credit card information and I've got a copy of GTA V and Civilization VI, a game that normally sells for $60, for absolutely nothing. The promise of having these games tied to an account for me to use later alone got me to register an account. Imagine if I could also use streaming to play them on my potato of a computer.

If Google truly cared about promoting Stadia, they'd be aping this model like it's going out of style. But nope, you get a two month free trial of Pro and Destiny 2. Cool cool cool.

Our "hot takes" are based in things like "physics" and observing the performance of comparable services. Our actual experience is in networking and fibre-optic technology. The people telling you Stadia doesn't work right for most people are doing so because they know how Stadia fundamentally operates down to the hardware it runs on.

"People decided before they tried it" is not the defense you think it is. Some things don't need to be tried in order to see that it would be a bad product for your uses; nobody has time to try everything, so being able to filter out purchases that are obviously no good for you before wasting time on a test drive is just good decision-making. I don't need to actually experience having a game session dumped after pausing for 15 minutes in order to know that's a dealbreaker for me.

If you can't even get people to try a product for free before deciding that it's no good for them, that usually says a whole lot more about your product and how it addresses consumers' demand than it does about consumers' judgment.

This has been driving me a bit crazy. Why are there multiple fighting games on the Stadia? This is a genre where having an advantage is gauged in the form of being +3 frames on your opponent. Among any fighting game circles I’ve seen, the mantra is “friends don’t let friends play fighting games over wifi”. If you don’t have a good and proper wired internet connection, you’re going to have a bad time playing them online.

Even if Stadia worked perfectly, It would still be adding more delay into the equation. Stadia is useless for fighting games beyond playing through the single player story mode poo poo. So why the hell did the new Samurai Shodown game launch as some sort of pseudo Stadia exclusive? It’s like SNK wanted their game to fail on pc.

I was going to make a comment about how the people working on Stadia have no idea what kind of games are even a good fit for their service, but then I thought about that a bit, and actually neither do I.
