sure, and a horse drawn buggy does the same thing as an F-150

your example might be conceptually the same but is still a level of friction that discourages engagement - Stadia was literally a button click and has queues which your "analog" example doesn't

They only get the latter half of Cold Steel .

I know it's because they only have the licensing for it, but CSIII ain't exactly a great entry point to jump in blind to the series as it's a single ongoing story between them all. Think like, say, Game of Thrones novels.
This isn't like Final Fantasy?

Nope, the Legend of Heroes (or Trails) series spans multiple games and protagonists, but it's all a single ongoing narrative across a continent chasing a shadowy organization. It goes in Trails in the Sky, Trails in the Sky: Second Chapter, Trails in the Sky: Third Chapter (which is admittedly more of a side-game to tie off some existing loose ends and is optional overall), then splits into two game series occurring in parallel; Trails of Cold Steel 1&2 taking place in the country of Erebonia, and Trails of Azure and Trails to Zero taking place in the neighbouring City-State of Crossbell (the latter two games never receiving an official English localization, but you can get by just playing the Cold Steel games).

Then all that comes together in Cold Steel 3 (hence why it's a bad entry point) and heads into the big arc finale of Cold Steel 4. Each game has an average playtime of about 50+ hours, with the Cold Steels getting upwards of 75+ hours. It is a dense series.

If you want a good starting point, Cold Steel 1's perfectly fine as the Trails in the Sky games occur in another country and are largely preamble to things kicking off in earnest in a broader sense.
Oh my

lol no you idiot, your platform failed because it was supposed to play video games and you didn't have any. And the ones you did have had bad visual quality and were being sold for unattractive prices. Network effect is what you worry about *after* you have a good product that should out-compete the incumbent on a level playing field, something none of the half-assed efforts illustrated managed to reach the bar for.
No, network effect absolutely applies, as in if you buy a game anywhere else you can't play it on stadia, and if you buy a game on stadia you can't play it anywhere else.

For those who'd rather not watch the video, Google is adding in (currently in alpha) Steam support for Chromebooks instead of integrating Stadia support, which would be a more natural fit for the Chromebook streaming, browser-based ethos.

Basically Google has completely sidelined Stadia and is pretending it doesn't exist.
Yep

It's timelinked to the exact part of the video 5:55 in, no one needs to watch the whole video

It's nice they are refunding customers at least but if they don't "refund" devs that will be a real lovely thing to do and entirely within their wheelhouse
