Page 2: Can I get a hell yeah for hot lunch jam Also, it's kind of surprising to me that none of the songs I listened to 5 or 10 years ago showed up on this list; nearly every song here is one I discovered in the past year. I guess that means it's in human nature, or at least my nature, to frequently move on from old to new. (Of course it's worth mentioning that this is not my absolute literal most-played songs list, but rather a list generated by a spotify algorithm, so that could have modified the results somewhat)

I decided not to use Spotify a long time ago I can't actually remember why, I think it had something to do with how the company treats the musicians |

You’re welcome to post your favorite pandora stations! Pandora is great unless you are an obsessive freak like me who is like “I MUST LISTEN TO THIS CERTAIN SONG IMMEDIATELY OR I WILL DIE” also I hate ads It’s true that Spotify doesn’t pay the musicians hardly anything and keeps all the money themselves, so I try to support the currently-producing artists I like in other ways

I prefer to listen to physical copies of songs and keep my distracting technologies separate from one another instead of crammed together all in one buggy device tbpf |

That game’s soundtrack has a bunch of songs by carpenter brut. I’m not sure if, uh, it is a nickname I would be particularly proud to have, but I guess it does have a better ring to it than “the pervert”

blaise rascal posted:Yeah that is definitely fair. Apple says I spend an ungodly amount of time staring at a screen, and I know part of that is my tendency to come to my phone for one task, then get distracted and do a different task, and before I know it two hours have passed. I could probably stand to compartmentalize more... I understand completely. Computers are useful and they make life easier, but the screen isn't always telling the truth. |

The weekly stations "New Releases" that are based on what you listen to and "Discover" are great one comes out on Monday the other on Friday. I try and listen to both lists each week but don't always find the time.

Spotify is all full albums and random stations are actually a newer feature. It started as play list only and technically still is. There's an option called continue playing at end of playlist that picks similar songs. So yes do check it out they have almost every mainstream band and tons of niche stuff. Theres bands with under 100 song plays per weeks and some in the millions. It's really good for discovering things. Or just listening to stuff. You can share playlists and add friends and see what they are listening to. |

https://open.spotify.com/album/7tB40pGzj6Tg0HePj2jWZt just press play You may need to login with a free account did a test logged out and it only played the first 30 of each song it's free I swear. But ad free is cheap and comes with free Hulu (ad support) which means I don't need to pay extra to watch Future Man a very funny time travel show that doesn't take itself serious in any way. pixaal fucked around with this message at 12:16 on Mar 23, 2019 |

What really amazed me, and this was when it was still pretty new, was that it had a friend of mine's techno single he made back in the 90s on vinyl off a compilation mix by another friend. Yeah there's tons of mainstream stuff, but tons of seriously obscure stuff on there too. That pretty much sold me on it. |

There are also a couple of excellent albums I can't find on any other streaming service, (search for ERROR's self titled album as an example, if you're interested.) |
