lmao what in god's name

I beat 9 again for the first time in awhile last night and it's just so good. The ending makes me tear up a bit every time. The most memorable characters in any game I've played.

HOWEVER.

The final boss, aside from coming out of nowhere storywise, still feels like a cheap fight. My party had zero trouble with the Chaos Guardians, Deathguise, or Trance Kuja, but Necron kicked my butt the first time. You can only guard against so many status effects, I got unlucky on a Grand Cross, and down I went. It doesn't help that I believe he gets a free turn every time your party does something, so I screwed up and hit myself with a reflected Flare.

I was saved by Phoenix which I've never seen actually happen.

gently caress Necron, I made an earnest attempt to get through most of the remake without using the rush the story cheat stuff but when he showed up after I bashed through the last boss I just shrugged after the first wipe turned them on and slammed right through.

Ain't got time for that poo poo now.

The Magnifiers indeed loving suck, I don't mind the others but depends if you like to look like old fashioned fantasy moon eye.

Part of me hopes on day they'll come back to this stuff and really work harder on each region theme. Fantasy pirate, fantasy ranger and fantasy medieval eastern themed stuff would be great rather than the same awkward cotton hose and tabard they use dozens of times.

Also, some closed shirts, jackets and coats should be nice. I am sensitive about my lack of nipples and chest hair.
