Has anyone used a save editor with BL3? I used Gibbed in BL2/BL2.5 and it was great, but from searching it looks like he didn't release one for BL3.

Searching on BL3 save editors turns up some results, including a website, but I figured I would ask if anyone has one they'd recommend.

I changed tactics and saved iron bear to tank it. Barely took any damage, compared to melting without it. Still kind of spongey, but the fight didnít take as long as the jack DLC boss on the first run.

Overall, I liked the story and setting. People were right about how much of it felt like an apology for Maya getting done dirty. I havenít found any dlc gear that I like just yet. A level 60 Moar Gargoyle carried me up to the final boss, then I went and farmed a new one for the fight. It was fun for being part of the season pass, but I still liked the casino way more, even with every enemy being just loader bots the whole time.

I haven't got through all the DLC yet, but I liked the Casino. The loaders were fine, especially once I figured out my Breath of the Dying made short work of them even with it a few levels behind my current level.

So here's my big problem with Borderlands games in general :

When you have a specific gun that feels really good to use, the game is a blast. When you don't, it's annoying and a slog. What ends up happening is I find a really great gun to use for a while, and I have pure joy, then I outlevel it and start having problems with enemies not dying fast enough and I switch up guns and the fun I have drops significantly. The games have millions of guns and all but when only a handful feel good to use it's really annoying when you don't get one of those handfuls.

The problem is worst early on at lower levels too, so you have to level up just to get to the point where you start getting the good guns that feel good to use. I hate the lower levels because trying to get a decent gun early on is just so annoying.

Yeah, my patience for this has declined over the years. Starting with BL2 I would do a playthrough on the campaign first without adjusting things, but after that I find using a save editor is a big quality-of-life upgrade. Otherwise the grind is just too, well, grindy.

is there a way for me to get a higher level version of the Cloud Kill smg you get from the main story (beyond playing through the whole thing on true vault hunter mode i guess). it was my favourite gun for a very long time till i outlevelled it.

right now my best guns are clairvoyance and convergence. clairvoyance is a cryo element jakobs AR that shoots torgue-style sticky bombs and for some reason does a huge amount of damage. convergence is a shotgun that makes a bunch of extra pellets come out of midair and hit the enemy and do a ton of damage.

i recently found a maliwan smg called Flipper that doubles the amount of bullets it fires as you hold down fire, up to like a grid of 9. it does a good amount of damage too.

i'm on mayhem 6 because i want to see the special mayhem-only guns, but its not super fun as like 99% of guns are totally useless, and rolling a good set of modifiers takes forever. right now i have a pretty decent set of modifiers, but one of them is that like half of all enemies are immune to fire damage, so i can't use the hellwalker shotgun like i used to.

is there anything special with the ghosts in the halloween event? do they have a mechanic or are they just enemies that spawn when you kill other enemies?

If you're playing on PC then you could edit the save. I've been using the web-based save editor and it has been working okay. Not as good as Gibbed was for BL2, but functional.

Agreed. Moxxi, Brick, and Tina all sucked in BL3, too. Mordecai was pretty bad, but wasn't anywhere as annoying as what they did with the others. Ellie was slightly more annoying this time than before, but she was already pretty annoying.

Only Marcus and Tannis seemed more or less okay compared to their earlier iterations.

I haven't seen anything about raising the level cap or adding another way to get more skill points, so it seems like adding a fourth skill tree is just kind of inflationary.

I haven't checked to see if editing a save to have more skill points than should be allowed causes the save be viewed as corrupted, but the idea of another skill tree just makes me want to try it more.

The Storm is a great sniper rifle, especially if you can buff shock damage.

The Firestorm is also good as a similar incendiary rifle:

I'd argue that the characters that weren't awful in BL3 is a shorter list than the ones that were.

Hammerlock was the only returning character that seemed good to me, and I thought Winthrop was good. Their mercenary guy that you do a couple missions was okay, or at least not terrible.

The new Atlas head guy was okay, mostly. Same with his anglophone assistant, whatever her name was. The head of Maliwan was the best villain they had in the game. Hammerlock's sister was an okay villain.

Marcus was about the same as always, maybe a little worse.

Maya seemed okay for the 45 seconds she had onscreen.

Everyone else was worse, and only the degree varied. Some were much, much, much worse, while others were just much, much worse. Typhon Deleon was loving terrible, like if you hired Danny Devito to do a bad Lou Costello impression but more annoying. If Ava wasn't in the game I'd easily be calling him out as the worst. I'd like to see that character removed, or at least redone as something other than an insipid Looney Tunes character.

I think the twins were incredibly lazy and shallow choices for villains, and were used in a completely haphazard fashion with no development.

"The bad guys are going to be social media influencers! Their motivation is a bad childhood because of an overprotective parent! This is a good plan!"

"I know, let's make the brother kind of a parasitic twin who relies on his sister to suck life and power from other beings! Like he has a missing arm and maybe a leg, too!"

"Yeah, and then he will suck the life from a siren and get super powerful on his own! This makes sense!"

"And all the bandits worship them as gods! Because they are famous! And talk about being manipulative!"

It's just shallow and not thought out, and casts a pall over the whole story.

Yeah, or set the objective as "Follow Yammering Douchebag" and if you get too far ahead of them they stop and wait for you to go back to them so they can start plodding along and yammering again. There's that one side mission on Nekrotefayo or however it's spelled where you are basically beta-testing an AR game where you have to do an escort mission and it's really bad, so at least some of the devs on BL3 seemed to have insight onto what bullshit it is.

But then there's a shitload of the same idiocy elsewhere in the game. Unless that mission was a subtle dig at the overall game being badly written?

I dunno, there is something kind of interesting in Tyreen sticking to a 'family is important' moral code despite lacking the empathy or moral framework to understand why it's important. Like, she clearly finds her brother a burden and an irritation, but she gives him a good life alongside her anyway because they're family, and that's what you're supposed to do for family. She seems genuinely surprised and upset when he tries to eat her, and genuinely respectful when she absorbs his corpse. It's a fun little wrinkle in her characterisation, especially compared to Handsome Jack (who was only too capable of turning familial love into a justification for horrific abuse).

I'd say it's just more shallow, arbitrary plotting for an underdeveloped and paper-thin character. She could have done the exact opposite and it would have fit with the lack of an actual character just as well.

Jack actually has backstory, character development, and an arc to his character. The twins do not.

From Steam reviews to a few posts on here, I see a lot of very strident opinions saying things like "Season Pass 2 is overpriced and a money grab. gently caress these devs!". I am fine with folks saying "I don't want to pay $30 for something. it's not worth it TO ME" but saying it shouldn't exist or be $5 or free seems strange to me when there is no way of knowing how much it costs to do the work and, ultimately, what 2k thinks people will pay. I mostly played at Mayhem level 6 because it unlocked the Legendaries but didn't turn everything into a total bullet-sponge. I also started using a save editor because I hate bullet sponges and could just edit my gear up as needed.

Some of the late-game balance is totally hosed. Vehicles in particular become glass cannons except for the cannon part - their damage drops off spectacularly while they become totally fragile. I got in the habit of jumping out of my vehicle, one or two-shotting whatever enemy was around, then hopping back in. Otherwise the vehicle won't survive the encounter and I'd be stuck hoofing it across a huge map.
