I just got caught up on this show and I haven't laughed this hard since community.

Hey trip report the new Stephen Moffat Dracula miniseries is exactly as bad as you'd expect.

Arglebargle III
Feb 21, 2006

It's funny how the two leads get a chance to do acting in the first act of the first episode and absolutely kill it. The guy who plays Dracula did a great job in his transformation. Then the Stephen Moffat starts.

How much do you want to bet that Colin is going to be the main antagonist for the show.

I want to third Wellington Paranormal. It's delightful.

I love Nandor's accent. I've seen his actor in other stuff and it's weird hearing him speak in a generic south England accent.

That movie is way too sad!

Spill it: who knew Mark Hamill was in this season?

Nandor doing the Genghis Khan stuff but messing it all up is great. Standing dramatically on a cliff over a burning village giving a villain monologue that nobody can hear is completely on-brand.

Have you noticed that Colin Robinson's scenes are the only ones shot like an actual horror movie?

It reminds me of the best scene from that Netflix Dracula miniseries a few months ago, where Drac is looking around in amazement at a dumpy modern home after sleeping 100 years. The owner shrugs and says "It's a dump" and he's like "Bitch I've met ever ruler in Europe and every single one of them would literally kill to have a room like this."

Have you seen the rooms that rulers in Europe had? Netflix Dracula is extremely bad and almost nothing in it makes sense.

I've seen the actors mention that their costumes reflect when each felt most prosperous. So Nandor is in late medieval outfits while Laszlo wears Victorian dress. Maybe someone can tell me what style Nadja is wearing.

Arglebargle III
Feb 21, 2006

Wait, how DID he explain the camera crew?

Arglebargle III
Feb 21, 2006

Laszlo plowing his truck into the bar was the biggest laugh for me. The beat between him looking back to reverse and the wide shot was perfect.

Also, the reveal that he somehow acquired a lot of money for a brand-new F-150 and wouldn't even consider using it to pay Jim is the icing on the joke.

Arglebargle III

I loved how Jim sincerely said he was "very poor" because a tenant skipped out on one month's rent 100 years ago.

By his own account Hamill is a big fan of the show so I'll bet they have him on again. FX must see it as a slam dunk.

I wish ANY US entity had the rights to distribute Wellington Paranormal. Imagine if Farscape had been Aus only! What a waste.

Although Jemaine seems like he may be tired of writing that show, he said in an interview it was tough to stretch the premise beyond two seasons.

It's uuuup.

I feel like even though people say gently caress on this show all the time I was surprised the spanish swearing wasn't bleeped.

I've been wanting more Nandor. He's been playing second or third fiddle to the other roommates a lot this season.

Also I want to see him finally get a chance to get an ax and have the punchline be how casually murderous he gets instead of how cowardly he is.
