Trap sprung, but that's kind of complicated because of the trigger warning rhetoric. So the trigger can be violence, character death, or hosed up kinky poo poo. But everybody's standards for it is different, so a lot of people just automatically advertise it they don't tag what the content is so it's at-your-own-risk, or they'll write out a warning at the beginning. e: it's also because the alternative is "no archive warnings apply" which is in essence a promise of what a fanfiction -doesn't- contain, which can be sorta spoilers if it might otherwise be a situation that has tension about whether someone might get hurt or die. if you say "no archive warnings apply" ostensibly no one can die in that fan fiction or it is tagged incorrectly. so some people say "choose not to use" but no one dies, because they didn't want to wear on their sleeve that no one dies. etc. Pick fucked around with this message at 06:55 on Apr 3, 2019 |
