She wants to go to one of the UFO conventions with me sometime, since we shared a fascination with that stuff when I was growing up. If I can find a non-Q-level-crazy one, I'd totally go with her.

My dad on the other hand watches Golf or News, and News is him yelling at the TV about how the rich only exist to gently caress over the poor and how we should put people like Bezos in jail if they aren't gonna pay their taxes. He's stopped talking to A LOT of his boomer friends because, in his words, "they only care about their own money and nothing else, they don't want to help anyone and all they do is complain and be assholes". Thereís a noticeable pivot away from economic libertarianism on the part of certain boomers lately. I think Trumpís half assed support of protectionism as well as the opioid epidemic (not to mention Tucker Carlsonís ascension as Supreme Talking Head following Rushís death) has allowed some conservatives to finally express their hatred of at least some rich people. Donít get me wrong, they still hate having to pay taxes or have help go to the ďwrongĒ people, but I donít see quite the same pathetic worship of rich people as hard working business titans who give people jobs out of the goodness of their hearts like I did as recently as 2012 with Romneyís campaign.

It gets a lot better when you fill it with garlic though.

That doesn't actually sound bad. I think the problem is that I really love vinegar and mustard and cheese to the point that it's difficult to think of situations where I wouldn't go with one of those over mayo.

Had to listen to a maskless garbage spewing boomer today waiting in line at the BMV. Had fun for a while thinking of snappy comebacks for later, as I will start poo poo when drinking, which Iím not generally doing in the morning at the BMV. Also, Iím a much better writer when sober, which is clear from my late night posting here so itís fun to have material ready.

Anyway at one one point I just looked at him a WTF look and he shut up the rest of the time. No idea what I did right, or wrong, but it worked. Since Iím a white guy of a certain age usually looking at these people encourages them. Dunno.

Whenever I would have to go to the DMV they would always call out a number several times before moving on, and about half the time a few numbers later some older person would go up to the desk and complain no one called their number.

Thereís also a big sign showing what number is next, so itís not like you couldnít plan around it and prepare for your turn.

My wife collects certain dolls as a hobby. Not these ones, thankfully, but she tends to amass a lot of doll related knowledge, and I recall this type coming up in past conversations where she mentioned that some people buy these lifelike baby dolls as a coping mechanism to deal with the grief of losing a child or not being able to conceive. It doesn't make them any less creepy, sure, but I at least view them through a more sympathetic lens after learning that.

People buying them for fun, I have no excuse for.

My dad does salt, pepper, mustard, and mayo.

Their tacos are plain, unseasoned ground beef, covered in preshredded cheddar cheese. Sometimes he'll add a trickle of the mildest taco sauce possible.

My mom's only condiment is salt.

My grandmother worked for a lawyer that was a leftie like that!

Gave her her start! I used to play in his offices. Funny thing, she ended up working in his firm, again, and works for his son, now, since he sadly passed.

But she still voted Trump, though I'm fairly sure she has the job she does because of kindness and empathy. She's not stupid- She's actually quite smart, and I can speak with her easily, but she's incredibly misled. When I frame it right, she comes around.
