I’m glad everyone else has some degree of my parents.

My parents hit literally every major boomer conservative trope to an extreme and it’s infuriating.

- Identity Politics
- Bringing up politics at any and every opportunity
- No nuance in anything, always extreme black and white
- Will put down anyone behind their back for the most inane things to feel superior to them
- Democrats
- Conspiracy theories
- Racism
- Complaining about fake news in the same breath as quoting infowars

I could go on and on, I haven’t had anything approaching a meaningful conversation with them in over a decade. I miss having a family. :(

What is it about boomers telling a story and it has to include every step of the entire process, no matter how uninteresting the actual steps of the story are? I don’t give a gently caress about the story, I especially don’t care about what Donna said midway through your third tangent.

I think the classic cars will just advance a decade. Gen-X doesn't care about Studebakers, but they'll pay through the nose for a cherry 1980 's Jeep Wagoner. Which makes sense because parts are going to become increasingly difficult to get for the old old cars and younger generations have no childhood memories of 1950's Cadillacs. Already 70's muscle car prices are sky high and don't even think about a 70's era Toyota Land Cruiser or Bronco.

Which means 60 year old Millennials will be restoring 90's era Ford Tauruses for a daily driver because they have no money.

Take a look at 90’s Japanese supercar prices, they’re already getting insane.

One of my boomer coworkers came back from a week's vacation in Mexico, and somehow spent 10-15 minutes discussing Mexican resorts with the neo-Boomer (in that he's 39). How do you discuss that much about a vacation that isn't about the local food, attractions, or experiences? Just things like the service there. Kind of reminds me of that scene from American Psycho where they just compare business cards.

My in-laws have a time share at an all inclusive resort they invite us to occasionally, they look at my wife and I like we’re crazy for “leaving the reservation” and getting as far away from the resort as possible almost every day. I don’t get it, the resort could be plopped literally anywhere warm and it’d be the exact same experience.
