Also in article, the average age of a new car buyer is 53. Yeah, nothing wrong with our economy.

No joke, we're fast approaching some kind of car crisis where demand for used cars exceeds demand for new cars. And the major American car companies are dealing with it by putting all their eggs in the SUV/Truck basket.

Also, auto loans are the next subprime loans that are about to blow up in our faces. Probably simultaneously with student loans.

All while literally the worst possible people are in charge of the economy.

I got a .9% APR on my car. I didn't remember that it was one of the economic warning signs time until later.

Serious question that sounds Boomer-y from yours truly: why does the self-checkout lane at Kroger have weights in the bagging area? Seriously. Why can't I just put my poo poo in bags without "PLEASE PUT YOUR ITEM IN THE BAGGING AREA," "PLEASE REMOVE THE ITEM FROM THE BAGGING AREA," "AN ATTENDANT WILL BE WITH YOU SHORTLY *lockout screen*" for literally every single loving thing I do? Nowhere else I shop at has weights in the bagging area; only Kroger.

Who the gently caress cares what weighs what, I'm paying for the poo poo and put it in the bags in the bagging area. I just want to pay and leave, and that poo poo makes my transaction take longer than it should and make me shop elsewhere most of the time. Can any supermarket goons help me out here?

Wait... you don't understand that the weight thing is so you don't put a sticker on a different product or sneak two items in simultaneously? OK BOOMER.

Those of you using password variants have Boomer brain. When one of your passwords get exposed, they are added to a rainbow table. There are simple algorithms that mutate passwords on rainbow tables and they are used to attack unencrypted password lists. Use a password manager with 2 factor or at least one good password.

LRADIKAL

It's so basic though. It isn't hard for the "hackers" to download encrypted password lists and attack them with rainbow tables of known lists, then hit them with common permutations. You only attack the neopets password leak to add more passwords and variants to your rainbow table/algo list.

also just reuse old passwords by memorizing a substitution cipher and running it through that first, it's way easier to remember than if you have to do like 7 consecutive non-dictionary words with randomized caps and noncaps, several numbers and like eight @ symbols

This is amazingly bad advice.
If you can memorize a substitution cypher, then there is already an algorithm brute forcing against it.

She hemmed and hawed about it for like a week before finally buying the drat thing and loving it.

Months go by, and she calls me up complaining her computer was slow. So I went over and defragged the HDD and holy gently caress, 70% fragmentation. I don't even know how you can get a computer that fragmented without installing and uninstalling massive programs on like an hourly basis.

Ya, like, this isn't the original spirit of the thread. It's turned old school SA E/N. I'm ok for now, but I want to get back to stereotyping the norm, not wallowing in our personal memories of abuse, of which, mine are not so bad.

Trying to contribute. Boomers like complaining about masks "Taking away their rights." While they are old as gently caress and still working poorly in the factory making more money than the younger people, with medicare and social security, and a $2000/month pension waiting.

Gaj needs legal advice and to talk with a therapist. As said above, he is showing the symptoms that one might expect from someone in proximity to other damaged individuals.

It's unclear if he's actually worried about these people or trying to get something out of them. In both cases, I don't think his reported actions are uniformly wise.

Also, wrong thread. This is a different kind of depressing and frustrating that I signed up for when I got into this thread. Start a new one, Gaj, if you must continue this saga here.
