It still blows me away what an unforced error "kind of forgot" was. If they'd have just not said anything, it would look to all the world like Dany was just a bit too reckless, rather than the worst military leader in this or any other world. It wouldn't make for a much better ending than we got, but it would've at least looked like you did it on purpose.
