Cena was a star (I guess it's all the same "get my rear end kicked the whole match then come back out of nowhere" booking minus the fact that Cena actually won the big matches)

His classics against Edge and Punk aren't all him being carried. The comparison to Goldberg isn't really fair since Goldberg was allowed to be brash and cocky and just go out and squash dudes whereas WWE booking demands that only local jobbers can be in squash matches and every match has to be a back and forth affair even if it's like Mysterio vs Strowman, and Roman has to be humble and personable so he can go on Good Morning America instead of just screaming who's next and being an overall dickbag
