Sweevo posted:i worked for a school in 2001 and the entire school was managed using some terrible all-in-one "school management solution", which was basically a huge flat database (in a late-80s version of dbase) with hundreds of fields and a suite of editor programs all clearly written and designed by people who never communicated with each other. parts of it were still dos-based. just adding a new student and assigning them to classes took 15-20 minutes and required running five different programs. lol education software is in a whole special class of terrible bullshit

enterprise grade means these things: - you can't install it without overpaid consultants - somebody got a kickback when your company bought it - it sucks a lot more than either the foss or the normie versions - enjoy your training seminars if it's hardware, then enterprise grade means: - you overpaid by a lot source: been at two companies during SAP rollouts, don't they know that sap is right in the name?

enterprise grade means thousands of hours were put in the backend, and like 5 minutes into the frontend. so you have a database program that can store like petabytes of data with nanosecond lookup times that is all accessed via a javascript web app that hangs for 10 seconds on every click because it somehow maxes out i7 cpus
