Chalamet would be terrible but I will say that for a long time I've been wanting them to cast a younger Bond. Someone in their mid-20s who can grow into the role and might actually have a shot at making five or six movies without looking like a decrepit old man.

Agreed, and also to avoid them doing “is Bond getting too old for the job” plotlines after 2 movies

I'd have been all for it if this was like 20 years ago around the time she did Constantine/Michael Clayton, like 2005ish.

But a person in my late 30s, people in their mid-20s frighten me. That wouldn't do at all!

A mid-20s Bond could be interesting, but they would really have to lean into it. Bond has generally been portrayed as hyper-condifent and near-infallible. A rookie Bond couldn't and shouldn't be either of these things, or if he is, his arrogance would have to be his Achilles heel. That would be cool to see play out, but I don't trust Amazon and Amy Pascal to pull it off.

You're right that it would be a tougher casting job. You need someone who has the innate suave confidence and it's rare to find in younger actors.

Craig is an incredible actor who got absolutely shafted with dogshit scripts
Dalton incredible
Moore very good
Connery excellent

Rege-Jean Page seems like the best choice IMO. He's got the looks, the accent, and he can act.

Sure, I'd rather see him do weird stuff but he's in the right point in his career where a bunch of surefire paydays will platform him for that sort of thing later.

America's $1 Funnyman

Godzilla looks great, I don't care how old he is.

On the Young Bond thing, the older actors thing doesn't bother me, and they're usually better actors and also cooler when older.

Daniel Craig was 38 in Casino Royale, and I never felt he's been too old to play Bond, plus they really took their time putting out some of these sequels. Dalton was 41 etc.

RDJ was in his 40s for Iron Man. And lets not forget Keanu at 49 for John Wick.

(I'm also 38 :bisonyes: )

In the old times they used to make a bond movie every 2 or 3 years so this was not as big of a deal.

A rising trend we see with Millennials are the really extreme forms of experiential exercise like Tough Mudder (a sort of filthy triathalon), the Color Run and even things like Hot Power Yoga, veganism etc. Millennials will often post “N.B.D.” on their social media after doing it , as in No Big Deal, also known as the “humble brag”…..wondering if James Bond could get into that in some way….he’s super athletic, bendy, strong, intense….and it’s all NBD to him, of course.

The Color Run is not an extreme form of exercise lol. It's literally a bunch of kids and non-serious runners doing the laziest 5k ever.
