If you like one-off missions, cold war period pieces, cool action, non-creepy horniness, and a female protagonist the film Atomic Blonde comes highly recommended.

A period piece would be ideal, but it would severely limit the cross-promotional and product placement revenue streams. Sony phones don't really work in 1966, it's not Archer. So, we have to tolerate the film makers clumsily move the pieces around to make the UK government's #1 wetwork goon look like a hero.

It's a weird combination because Craig's Bond is presented as a deeply serious person, despite making a decent amount of jokes and the occasional bon mot. It's doubly weird because Craig is a really gifted comedic actor.

I think they were going for sleek and streamlined, but it just now looks a bit poverty.
