What's the worst post-Roger Moore Bond film? I've been watching each film in the franchise this summer. I haven't gotten to Die Another Day yet but I'm guessing either that or The World is Not Enough.

They should have brought back post shark attack Felix before they rebooted the series.

Going to watch the Never Say Never Again fan edit Never Say McClory Again this weekend. I’ve been real curious about this fan edit for a while.

This past year would have been perfect for an official version of this idea. To anyone unfamiliar with this edit, it basically adds the Bond theme and gun barrel opening to make it feel more like an official Bond.

edit:
the 2018 edit of Never Say McClory Again is kind of awesome. I'll probably watch this version from now on when I do Bond marathons. It isn't perfect but still is awesome if you're a Bond fan.

People like to talk smack about the Craig movies but hands down I’d watch any of them before revisiting almost any of the older films, and I say this as a super fan that’s seen every single one many times. It’s hard to go back to “formula” Bond after the leap in quality of the Craig era, for me. I appreciate what it brought to the franchise and what they did with it.

Roger Moore era > Craig era

Craig was Bond in 3 decades and put out 2, maybe 3 good movies.

Ah that actually does make some sense.

And I know I sound like a broken record with this point but Tom Hardy is 44, by the time they make a movie and get it released he'll be like 46 or 47. I'd much prefer they cast someone who can play the character a few times before they turn 50.

Same, next Bond should be cast as someone in their early to mid 30s.

I just want next Bond to be a little funnier like the old ones.

So you think when that lady told her 6-year-old stories about the man named Bond, James Bond, she left in all the parts where he hosed, killed, drank, raped, and got his balls pulverized?

The next time I see Bond make a sarcastic quip before exploding a guy's head or punching him into an industrial shredder or whatever, should I figure that is part of the fairy tale?

Did Craig Bond make many quips?

if possible when doing a Bond marathon, try to add in the fan edit of Never Say Never Again "Never Say McClory Again" that adds traditional Bond elements (Bond theme/gun barrel intro) into the movie.

Regarding Bond songs: I was surprised to find out that a lot of Bond fans don't like Nobody Does It Better. Not sure I'd put it in top 5 since there are some serious bangers, but I like it way better than a fair lot of them. It's a bit schmaltzy, a bit tacky, but I can't deny that I enjoy it. I guess I should go back an relisten to them, though, refresh my memory some.

I didn't like NTTD's theme in the theater, but it was buoyed by a cool credit sequence and I did find myself humming it a few times over the following weeks. Better than The Writing's On The Wall, at least.

Nobody Does it Better owns, though I can understand people not liking it. Dang, now I'm tempted to rewatch the Spy Who Loved Me tonight.

I noticed most of the Bond movies have commentaries. Often it is the director, sometimes a Bond does a commentary. Has anyone here listened to the commentaries? Are any worth listening to?

It's sickening they never did a full 4K run or boxset after they put out the restorations in the cinema a few years back, they all looked incredible.

I know 4K versions of every Bond film (except the original Casino Royale) showed up on the iTunes Store a while back.

Absolutely shocked there isn’t a UHD franchise collection considering the 4k remasters have been done for years.

I worry Bond on Amazon will lead to a bunch of mediocre spin off shows and movies that aren’t good enough to be theatrical releases.

Would love to be wrong.

Might be hard to ignore them if they force too many connections with Amazon Bond.

This is the kind of series we need.
