it's useful for people susceptible to burnout because leveling multiple classes to cap in pso2 loving sucks rear end and a lot of people don't like playing a lot of them it doesn't help that the good options pso2 does have for leveling outside of keys are very limited and become pretty drat slow themselves once stuff gets into 80-90 territory. once you have a class combo leveled you also have the conundrum of using EQs to try to get gear or to level lower classes since you can't do both at the same time Reco fucked around with this message at 01:26 on Sep 22, 2020 |

schvelles are jp endgame-competitive units and there'll probably be a gap of availability for the first two steps in terms of drops and/or the materials needed to upgrade them so i would say it's worth trying to get upgraded lightstream and austere units are still probably better but only by a little bit

i wouldn't quite say overpowered so much as successors are designed for a much different game than pso2 was when the other classes were new; those classes have mostly just been held together by tacked on features to try to get them up to speed. Generally most classes perform extremely well at endgame but older classes require more effort because they just weren't built for it in the first place in a way it's the same reason i consider new genesis to be so important ultimately, pso2 is kind of fundamentally hosed in certain ways that makes the game have a disparity between the slower game classes were designed for and the high-octane character action rpg it has become. Starting over again from the baseline 3 classes to create a more coherent experience between classes for a game's gameplay philosophy should be healthier for the "game" as it were (assuming you count pso2 and new genesis as the same game) in the long run hero is actually capable of some serious baloney it's just a lot harder to play than ph/et/lu mostly because you generally just are not allowed to take hits on hero without your multipliers going into a trash can Reco fucked around with this message at 22:01 on Oct 4, 2020 |

on the upside aex is still 100% viable on jp even after being power crept by lightstream/liberate/whatever new malarkey they put in for the ep6 endgame due to a 2nd potential being added later so imo it's worth the hurdles. They may or may not have quests at some point that you can grind for lumiere drops which helped tremendously on jp there's not really going to be very many "easy" strong weapons from this point on (i.e. they almost all require some upgrade steps like these) so i guess it depends on individual desire. I sure as hell didn't have much left in me after finishing 3 weapons but i am also a burnt out husk of a pso2 player so your mileage may vary

well hopefully they don't require the same amount of kills of DF:P for lightstream weapons on NA. I think on JP it's like 50 to get the time stone equivalent for that series. Same goes for the most recent series/EQ boss IIRC basically what i'm getting at is delete EQs/urgents Reco fucked around with this message at 15:50 on Oct 5, 2020 |

having cap bonuses is really good because it avoids the nightmare of being at level cap in the older games EXP FULL
