Just because he got his 3,000th strikeout in April doesn't mean we should stop talking about CC Sabathia: Podcaster Extraordinaire, Team Dad and Future Hall Of Famer.

Looking forward to the Twins proving they're a typical faux-good team. Can beat lovely teams but fold into a ball when facing actual good teams.

It's no longer in the thread title, but I feel obligated to point out that Craig Kimbrel and Dallas Keuchel are still free agents.

Lester's peripherals are trending in the right direction and Hamels has been way better than I expected him to be. Ditto Q who appears to be having a renaissance and is pitching like he did with the ChiSox with peripherals to match. Hendricks has been dogshit but he's always dogshit in April so I won't be worried unless he has another couple blowups. Darvish... I mean he finally threw six innings last start? idk I want to say it's just him slowly shaking of the rust but at this point I just don't feel comfortable with him on the mound.

Someone caught an open page of the Jays' scouting report on Angel's starter Griffin Canning for last night's game.

I've never seen an official scouting report before, I'm finding it very fascinating.

Multiple Cubs fans agreed to recognize the Cubs are in fact good once they surpassed .500. It's time to stop Cubs posting, friends. The Cubs are now good, arguably a top 5 team in baseball.

That is super cool, but I'm kind of surprised the heatmaps are from the pitcher's POV.

this is awesome

that changeup heat map is unbelievable to look at. it is HARD to keep changeups down and even harder to keep them in the zone. this dude has them pretty much located in the bottom part, and on the inside part of the plate. it is mind blowing to me that people are good enough at throwing a baseball to do both of those things consistently...while throwing in the upper 80s.

and this dude isn't even a GOOD major league pitcher

Top five might be pushing it: 11 teams have more wins and the Cubs are only 6th in Run Differential. That said they definitely have looked better than the disaster that was their first week.

Seeing Giles on the saves leader board is annoying

I would say he remembered how to pitch, but his worst FIP on the Astros was 3.08 so I'll say his luck has turned around instead

Also when the question was asked I predicted the Cubs would be over .500 and the Red Sox would not when April ended :smugdog:

Thats really cool. Is that something for the hitting coach to prep the team that was prepared by scouts or is that something that'd go to the broadcast booth? I am surprised we haven't seen this kind of thing more often.

I wasn't posting last night but I'm sure everyone watching the game was talking about this: lil Vlad is nervous. He earned 2 BB on 2 AB last night - his eye is obviously still as good as it ever was but when he decides he's going to pull the trigger, he can't hold back and swings at stuff way outside the zone.

e: poked through the gdt and nobody was talking about it because nobody watches the angels lmao

Some notes:
1) Mejia is way smaller than I thought he was
2) God drat Kirby keep your head down next time
3) What the hell is with the white noise at SunTrust Park? last night was the first Braves game I've seen this year and it sounded bizarre and very annoying.
