Wow, I never got a full breakdown of just how crazy the Penders story got. It kind of sounds like that Brazilian Megaman comic where the writer created his own original character and had planned to have her kill all the other characters and take over the book, except in that case the editors caught on and fired him (the fact his pet character apparently talked about doing it in the comic might have been a clue).
