Also none of the ones we saw were ok. Maybe a lot of them didn't survive or were worse off than even Ungalo.

I guess the head doctor IS a real person and Tooru is just working with him? Or maybe the calamity power is actually 2 stands working together.

Also it turns out the rokakaka is a really dangerous weapon when you control luck.

To contrast them with Josuke it's possible that the Head Doctor and Tooru are the result of the rokakaka splitting one person into two people. If neither of them is a Stand then that would explain the weird instantaneous connection they seem to share. Considering that the Head Doctor made a point of asking the reporter if he was pursuing him shortly before the reporter died it's pretty likely that the Head Doctor's Stand is the pursuer-targeting calamity attack and not the robot with the bone blades that ambushes people. If that was the case then I don't think he would have had to use the rokakaka exposure to decapitate the reporter.

Then I wonder if [Crazy Train] and [Wonder of You] are the stand names.

I saw a theory I liked that the Head doctor’s stand is the calamity that hurts anyone pursuing him, but Tooru’s stand can project the image of others. So the doctor that they were chasing was actually Tooru’s stand, which activated the Head doctor’s calamity power even though he was nowhere close.

If this is the case, I wonder if it would work with Tsurugi's stand, too. Just to make this whole situation as unmanageable as possible.

Also let's not forget the Doctor going all Blair Witch in the corner, there's gotta be a reason for that, whether Tooru is astral projecting the guy or something else.

When you've been around for as long as the Head Doctor has been, you get to stand around in any corner you want for as long as you want

Torquemadras

I feel like it's pretty clear right now how the calamity stand works. We've seen that, apparently, it has a need to travel; it cannot do anything if people can't see it, so it had to do all those whacky shenanigans with mirrors and glass doors to travel towards the bed, and gently caress up Jobin. If you can't see the stand, but you're still under its effect, the only way you could be attacked is by running into things by yourself.

What this doesn't explain is how the stand appears before multiple people. Maybe it can just affect multiple targets at once, gently caress you, that's it, everybody gets their own unique instance of the Head Doctor throwing extremely specific bad luck at them, engineering situations just for that. But as others mentioned, there may be more to that.

One thing's clear - not that anyone doubted that -, Tooru is evil because he seems to have no intention whatsoever of helping

If his power requires that you look at his back before it can activate then he's setting it up so that he can kill whoever enters the room.

I assume that the Head Doctor and Tooru share a consciousness. When Tooru answers the phone in the previous chapter had the same sort of dead-eyed look that the HD has for a panel before getting his regular eyes back. Much like how Gappy has split pupils, I think this is indicative of Tooru being a part of the head doctor. Doubly so when you consider that Tooru became aware of Josuke's intentions while still on the estate. So maybe rock human's have a way to create offshoots of themselves or the HD in his experiments managed to do something unique with his rock human physiology.
