I always liked La Stella, and I was annoyed that he got traded, but I could understand it with him being towards the end of his contract and other prospects being blocked. There are plenty of guys available to the Cubs who can cover 2nd so if Tommy wasn't going to get regular playing time in Chicago then by all means let him loose somewhere else. Haap was instilling no confidence and the teams had been trading the lead back and forth. You play to win the game you're in, not tomorrow's, IMO. Even if tomorrow's is today. Maybe German sucks or its a close game and we all curse this later tonight. But you don't know and I would have been much more annoyed if we lost the first game because Haap gave up another HR.
