Ozyn leans back in his chair with a bemused look on his face. He'd known that information didn't come cheap when it was useful, but finding out it was in the Imperial governor's museum was a whole other level. Right now, it might as well be on the other side of the galaxy. He didn't see any way to do this other than cooperating with this guy, so he gives Shade a shrug.

"Alright, we'll hear you out. What do you have in mind? And if she's a big buyer and bigger name, what'd she do to piss you off? Short change you on a deal?"

Gan chuckles, unwrapping a piece of mass produced jerky and chewing on it as he talks. "Are you kidding? I know how much those artifacts she has are worth, and I've got three nobodies that can't be traced to me looking to head in and steal her treasures ANYWAYS. If she so happens to have the other treasures stolen, and they disappear for a few months, and just happen to reappear on the market.." He gestures with the bitten piece of jerky as he talks, mimicking a line on a graph going up and smirking. "I smuggle you in, you get your trinket and a few gifts for me as payment, and I even line your pockets doing so." He stuffs the last of the dried meat in his mouth, ignoring Itahn as he speaks directly to Ozyn, spraying little chunks of partially chewed meat as he speaks.

"When I have somethin' for her, I bring it in to her in a crate, and leave it for her to get inspected and appraised. Once she looks at 'em, she pays me my fair share, and puts them in her little collection and hides the whole smuggling part of it. I put you three in the crate, drop you off after hours, and you rob her blind and make us all filthy stinking rich." He spreads his arms invitingly. "What do you say?"

Nearby, Pinder skulks about, watching the conversation with interest. He shakes his head subtly at Ozyn, his lips pursed, but he doesn't speak out against his boss.

There's a brief awkward silence as all the terrible ways this plan could go wrong flash through Ozyn's mind. He keeps his sabacc face going, though.

"Yes... tentatively. I don't speak for my friends. Give us a moment?" Once he drags the others out of earshot, Ozyn leans in and whispers, "Look, the only way I can understand this is that he's the biggest, greediest idiot on the planet, and this whole plan is incredibly bad, but what choice do we have? We got absolutely nothing. At least this gets us in, and if we walk on this guy now it'll probably take him about half a day to sell us out."

"How do we know he's not already selling us out?" Itahn asks. "He smuggles us in using the box for carrying his wares, then it'll turn out we were the wares all along. Come on, even I know how this works. Notice that he didn't say anything about how we're supposed to get out. He doesn't expect that to ever come up."
He lowers his voice, looking around through the Force. "I think you're underestimating him. I saw into his mind. He was part of a mercenary group that ran into the Empire. When they were cornered, he gunned down the rest of his group. There's two things I know for sure about him: He's good at backstabbing people, and he's too cowed by the Empire to make a move against them."
Itahn pauses, scratching his cheek. "You might be right that we don't have any other options. I certainly don't have any ideas. But we need to have a trick up our sleeves. Something he won't expect."

The twi'lek lets the sentence trail off as he takes a bite of his treat, his eyebrows raised. He snaps his fingers and points from the human near him to the trio of padawans, and Pinder nods, gently escorting the three out of the warehouse.

Outside, the man glances around and speaks. "I'm sorry we couldn't make a deal, my friends. Heavy Gan wishes you better luck next time!" He drops his voice now, leaning in closer to be better heard and hide the conversation. “Of course, if you’d prefer to make your arrangements with someone more trustworthy than a bunch of smugglers, I know some people who might be willing to help you cause trouble for the governor. With a scant few hours of daylight left, the padawans decide to check out the museum for themselves and see what they can learn on their own. After getting directions from a local vendor at the bazaar, the three board their speeder and find themselves parked in the lot outside the Museum of Spintir, located directly adjacent to the governor's mansion. They pull up next to a broken down speeder with a grav-lock on it; obviously, the owner isn't coming back for it.

From the parking lot, the trio can see the governor's mansion looming behind the museum, and Shade can see there seems to be a covered walkway connecting the museum proper and the mansion. Outside, a handful of tables sit facing the lawn of the museum, where a few people sit and enjoy their meals from the restaurant inside. Approaching the front door, the three are greeted by four troopers, one of which steps forward and raises his hand.

"Under the orders of the governor, the Museum of Spintir is off limit to everyone except donors and Imperial dignitaries. Now, if you'd like to MAKE a donation.." The troopers behind him chuckle at this, and after a minute of deliberation, it is obvious that the three don't have enough credits between them to bribe the guard. Ultimately, they return to The Cozy Wookiee, and retire for the night.

Regain all stress and two wounds, if you have taken any.

The next day, after spending time resting and preparing, the three make their way to the alley Pinder had indicated.

A human shape detaches itself from the shadows a minute after the three arrive, having obviously taken a bit of time to ensure they weren't followed. It's Pinder, the curly haired smuggler from the night before. He smiles as he sees the trio, and he greets them in a soft voice, different from the act he put on the night before.

“Glad you could make it. If you’re serious about trying to make a difference in this town, and you’re looking for friends who can help, you’ve just taken the first step. If you want to continue, I’ll need you to do something more to prove yourselves, though.”

He pulls a slim box out from under his jacket and holds it out. “There are a few items in here I need delivered to dead drops across the city. Just drop them off without the Imperials seeing or catching on, and without any tampering, and then meet me at the warehouse three blocks south of here." He gives a half-hearted shrug, glancing down the alley. "I’m sorry for the mystery, but my friends are cautious types. They’ll want proof you are who you say.”

Ozyn takes the box from Pinder and glances inside, finding three sealed bags with painted symbols on them, and three photographs with street names at the top and the same symbols painted onto the pictures in different locations. The Devaronian is familiar with such tasks, and glances at the first photograph. He recognizes the corner of the bazaar nearly instantly, and leads the three to the location of a little dumpling cart tucked in one corner of the bazaar that he had run past while chasing the member of Heavy Gan's Movers. After a moment of pretending to decide what to buy while keeping an eye on the nearby patrol, he ducks down and finds a small box attached to the wheel of the cart, in which he deposits the bag.

The second photo is of a vending machine with a street address on it, and Ozyn once again immediately recognizes the address and realizes it's to be placed in The Cozy Wookiee, which would explain what the Heavy Gan Movers member was doing the day before. Ozyn slips in quietly and deposits the second bag behind the vending machine while the owner is distracted. Looking to the third photo, Ozyn feels his stomach drop. It's the parking lot of the Museum of Spintir.

Returning to the museum, Ozyn approaches the speeder and watches up the hill; it seems like the guards aren't watching too closely, and so after hesitating a moment, he opens the trunk to place the package inside. However, as he closes the trunk, he spies three of the guards jogging towards him, their guns at the ready.

"Hold it! What are you doing there?!"

You can weasel out of this with a normal charm or deception test, which is two difficulty dice or with a good enough bribe. You may also just attempt to flee or fight, but this can go poorly for you.

The stormtrooper lieutenant's helmet hides any emotion or thought process as he looks between the speeder and Ozyn. After a long moment, he presses two fingers against the side of his helmet and lowers his head. "This is RSI-861 to command. We have a citizen detained onsite for suspicious activity. Uploading recording of questioning and awaiting response." 861 motions for one of the troopers under him, and that trooper quickly draws out a datapad and taps away at it for a moment. Shortly after, all three guards raise their rifles once more, keeping them trained on Ozyn.

It takes a good five minutes before the lead trooper stiffens, and once again depresses his communicator. "Roger that, Agent Brant." The trooper looks back up, leveling his rifle at Ozyn.. and uses it to motion for him to leave. "You're dismissed with just a warning this time, citizen. Be reminded that it is your civic duty to report suspicious activity to the local garrison." 861 turns to the other two troopers and nods back towards the museum, and the three continue their patrol with no further interruption to Ozyn.

With the packages delivered unhindered, Ozyn, Shade, and Itahn trek through the town to the warehouse Pinder had mentioned, found three blocks south of the original meeting point. Ozyn finds the door ajar and the three enter, discovering a completely barren warehouse, their footsteps echoing in the dimly lit building. Minutes later, while the trio mill about, Pinder enters the warehouse, trailed by several individuals in heavy, concealing clothing. He greets you warmly as the last of his compatriots arrive.

“It looks like you can manage efficiency and discretion—not that I ever doubted you!" He grins, raising his hands in mock defense. "If you want to get started with something more serious now, we think there may be a way for us to help each other." Pinder glances to his associates, and one of them steps forward, removing his hood to reveal himself as a Duros. His voice is low and gravelly, and he folds his arms across his chest as he speaks.

"We heard you asking about rare artifacts earlier, and there’s no one in this city with a bigger collection than Caria Haal, the Imperial Governor of Spintir. If you want something specific, odds are good she has it stashed somewhere in her collection. We can help you get into the collection, and if you cause trouble for Governor Haal, that helps us cause trouble elsewhere. Divide the Empire’s attention, see?" The Duros nods towards Pinder, letting him take control of the conversation again. "If that sounds good, we’ll be happy to set you up with the credentials to fake your way into the Museum of Spintir, which is the front for the place where the governor keeps the good stuff. Deal?"

Both Pinder and the Duros look at you expectantly. This seems like a good time to find out more about their plans and what it might mean for the trip through the Museum.

He glances at the Duros, who gives him a grunt. "That's all we can say on that for now."

Now, the Duros speaks. “Like we said, this is a situation of mutual benefit. The governor’s collection is going to be tough to crack, and even with the credentials we can forge, we're only able to get you in the front door. You’ll probably draw some heat." The alien shrugs. "You draw their attention, that makes it easier for us to cause the Empire problems elsewhere in the city. Of course, once we start our operation, it should confuse them enough and draw them off of you enough to help you make your getaway. It’s a win for both of us.”

After what feels like half a year, the trio finally agree to follow the plan of Pinder and his allies, as working with a criminal is absolutely off the table. With a nod, the Duros digs into a bag by the table and tosses three obviously Imperial ident-badges to the padawan. "Those'll let you pass as foreign dignitaries wanting to enjoy the rich, plundered culture of Spintir." The sarcasm is thick in the Duros' voice, and he makes a gesture over the table, bringing up a hologram of the museum. "What you're looking for is going to be in the mansion proper, which is attached by a skywalk here.." He gestures towards a sky bridge between the university and the mansion "I doubt those ident-badges will get you past that, but that's where we come in; we'll make enough noise to get most of the Imperial security and response team on our tail and give you the time to get what you need and make a headache for the governor."

The Duros taps the badges with a smirk. "With these, you can just walk in the front door, and then it's just a matter of getting to the skywalk without tripping any alarms, getting the door open, and somehow finding what you need. There's a ton of crap in the secure wing, and there's likely to be guards, so just poking around likely won't work. There might be a database or registry you can check, but who knows how these Imps do things." He pushes away from the table, looking the three over.

"If there's no questions, I recommend you lot get a speeder over to the museum. We'll work things out from there."

The hairy beast is strapped head to toe in what appears to be durasteel plates ripped from starfighter remains, and he hefts a bulky looking weapon with a rotating barrel. "Scruffy here is toting a Z-6 rotary blaster; a relic of the clone wars, but I'll be damned if it doesn't put holes in Stormtrooper armor juuuust fine. "The university museum is closed to all except dignitaries and scholars. Unless you've got identification, you'll need to come back during normal operating hours. You can call the university help desk at.."

Before the guard can rattle off the phone number, Ozyn offers up his identbadge. The trooper somehow looks shocked in spite of the smooth front of his mask, and he takes the identbadge to glance at it. The stormtrooper is taken aback by Ozyn Jovi's attitude and nods, handing the badges back. "Uh, yes, sir. You're free to enter, and we'll see about distracting any paparazzi." The trooper nods to his colleague and the two push the doors open for the trio, allowing them entry into the museum proper.

Inside of the museum is exactly what most would expect of a museum; directly to the group's right is a commissary and gift area, and the smell of what is probably half-way decent food floats through the air. Directly to their left, however, is a massive circular room filled with a variety of artifacts from all throughout Spintir's history, as well as the skeletons and stuffed forms of beasts from all over the planet. A banner hangs over the entire room, declaring it Imperial Pride Week, and it mentions finding the exhibits showcasing the planet's way of life prior to Imperial 'liberation' on the second floor. Stairs on either side of the room lead up to a second floor where the Imperial Pride exhibit is, and by Shade's guess, the skywalk.

Up these stairs, next to the beginning of the Imperial exhibit, is the skywalk, a glass encased walkway leading to the governor's mansion and the secure wing of the musem. None of the guards who meander about the museum give the trio a second glance; if you're there and no one is yelling about it, then obviously you're to be left alone. Crossing the skywalk to the opposite door is an easy task, but the door on the far side is closed and locked tight. A brand new and obviously advanced console is attached to the center of the door, allowing either a card swipe or a key code to enter the restricted area.

A cursory glance at the door finds another option than the ID console; tucked just beneath the electronics is a manual security override that could be handled with just a normal set of lockpicks or some other improvised instrument, but fiddling with either might raise an alarm if done incorrectly.

The door will require a Hard (3D) Computers or Skullduggery check, with a single setback due to how advanced the technology is, or how difficult it is to bypass it if you go the manual route. There's no guards coming so you've got a few minutes to ponder.

To the blind Jedi, it looks like the alarm must have triggered in the secure wing rather than the museum proper.

Ozyn Killik | Wounds: 0/13 Strain: 0/13

Looping a finger through the pommel ring, Ozyn flips his saber up off his belt and catches it. He gives the others a nod and gets in position, finger on the ignition switch. This would be his first time drawing a lightsaber in real combat. Hopefully it wouldn't be the last.

Well, fuck. Really?
Destiny Points: 4 Light, 1 Dark

With the jedi prepared for what may come on the other side of the door, Shade hits the button to open the door. With a soft hiss, the door slides open, and the left most guard squeezes the trigger on his blaster rifle at the first thing he sees: the red form of Ozyn. The blaster makes an odd noise as pulsating blue rings come from the end of the rifle, striking the devaronian square in the chest and staggering him back a step as electric shocks course through his body; the spasming from the stun rings causes the jedi to lose his balance, and he collapses back onto the floor in a daze.

I am using the triumph to inflict the staggered condition on Ozyn for one round in lieu of damage, since I did almost 12 strain to him with one shot. This coming turn, Ozyn is unable to use actions, but may use manuevers and incidentals. Any PC may act next.

Stun Blast: 2eP+1eA+1eB+1eD 4 successes, 1 Triumph

Itahn Vakir
W: 0/11
S: 2/14
C: 4

Itahn focuses on the right most guard and starts dashing toward him before the door opens. There's a sound of murky water on his left as the other guard fires and a soft chime on his right as his lightsaber ignites and glides through the air. He's in front of the guard before his opponent can bring his blaster around and the chime becomes a hiss as the lightsaber pierces through flesh and armor.

Attacking the guard on the right: 3eP+1eA+2eB+2eD 1 success, 1 advantage

critical injury roll: 1d100+10 33
Stunned: Staggered until end of next turn

Using a destiny point to upgrade the roll and spending 2 strain for an extra maneuver to aim. Spending an advantage on a crit and the free advantage from the lightsaber to give a boost die to the next pc

after a great meal i like to lie on the ground and feel like garbage

Shade | Wounds 0/12 Strain 0/12

In tune with Itahn, Shade surges through the door and thumbs her saber on with a chilling snap-hiss. The cyan blade cuts through the guard's armor with little enough resistance, then she twists the assembly apart and brings the second blade scything across the guard's neck.

Saber (boost, +adv, destiny spend): 2eP+3eA+1eB 5 successes, 5 advantage

those difficulties i forgot: 2eD 1 failure, 2 threat

Net 4 successes, 4 advantage. Activating Linked with 2 advantage and paying the other two forward as boost dice. That deals, what, 24 wounds since my base damage is 10?
