Some cats seem to never feel full and will gorge themselves. They likely have some genetic thing similar to Prader-Willi syndrome in humans. No one has yet done the research to correctly identify whether it's the same thing involving the same genes or something different. But it results in a huge cat, or a cat that is always crying for food even if they just ate.

I took some of my cats to the vet today. They weighed one, and I asked if he had gained too much weight. She said, "Well, the last time he was here was in 2017 and he was 2 pounds, so, yeah, he did." One of them, though...I said, "She's a healthy eater!" The vet was feeling her gut and says, "Obviously."
