i have no idea if this game is good or not, but i want to keep playing. i don't find it particularly fun, but i find it massively intriguing. i'm not sure how sustainable that is but i feel like kojima is the person to keep it interesting for a while.

decided to hulk it out and take 19kg more than i can carry just to see what happens.

i recommend everyone try it at least once. just load everything on your back and don;t entrust anything with anyone else.

i'm just curious how long you'll last. i made it ten minutes before reloading my save.

Love how much a game about connections and bringing people together is driving this thread to eat each other.

I only connect and bring things together based on the amount of likes I will get.

Random screenshots from early game. Might contain spoilers. So far I'm really enjoying it but I have no idea why.

I don’t want any tips. I want to figure it out on my own. But right now I’m at a spot where i’m desperately trying to escape an oil whale but I’m trapped in some big warehouse. I hope I don’t really have to try and fight this thing.

kojima turning everyone into worker bees has me wondering if he has a master plan involving digital human capital or something

i've ignored the plot for a while and i'm just completing deliveries i find.

avoiding BTs is fairly simple at this point. then again i'm only in part 2.

I posted this in the PS4 thread but it’s probably better suited here.

How come the “likes” aspect isn’t getting more focus from a psychological perspective? I feel like this game is a huge social commentary on “likes”-driven culture, and it just feels like it’s this big elephant in the room that isn’t getting much attention from reviewers/gamers.

Like, most of the choices I make in this game are based on the amount of likes I will get. If I have to choose, I will almost always help people that will net me more likes.

Or maybe this was already beaten into the ground and I missed out on the discussion.

If I loved Phantom Pain will I love this? It has mixed reviews so I'm hesitating. Hideo Kojima screwed me with MGS4 so I'm not just going to throw money at him this time. Hoping this is more like MGS5?

You might as well ask if you’ll enjoy this game because you played Tetris.

Kojima taking direct shots at IGN’s reviews is okay with me!

Are there any points of no return in the story? Will I be cutting myself off from deliveries or access to any of the world at any point?

I’m still putzing around in chapter 2 but BTs stopped being scary after just a couple of encounters.

I’m curious to see how my foolish pride is going to get me murdered later.

If someone is late to the party with this game will they be missing out on the multiplayer stuff? If I don’t play for the next month will all of the roads and such already be built when I play again? Or will there still be room for me to get those sweet, sweet likes?

I need my likes.

Got any spare likes?

I made a delivery and got a C rating.

I should uninstall.

I am not worthy.

Okay here's what actually happens if you leave corpses around

Eventually - and for me it was over 7 hours later at least - you'll start getting messages from Deadman telling you to clean them up. If you don't, you'll get a white voidout which doesn't actually cause a crater, it makes you reload a save but when you do, all the corpses will be gone

So as long as you're aware it's coming it's a very minor thing.

Dang

I was hoping voidouts would wipe out everything players have built, and corpses would also have to be picked up and transported by players.

Guess that would be really difficult to implement and easy to ruin the game for a lot of people though.
