I'm beginning to suspect Charlie Montoyo may not be a very good manager. Some of his decisions are kinda weird. I mean he's been a bench coach in the league so he's not completely new to The Show. I should probably give him more than half a year to make up my mind but I'm fickle. Ken Giles' pre-pitch routine is the most idiotic thing lol. But he's doing well so do your thing Ken.

Of Moyer, Procello, Hampton, Colon and Morris, Porecllo as the worst ERA+. Jackson making 80mm with a 90 ERA+ is quite amazing too. I hate to dunk on the Mets but the Mets are paying 20mm for the next 2 year for Jeurys Familia and Jed Lawrie and the Yankees are paying 21mm in the next 2 years for DJ LeMahieu and Adam Ottavino. That is.... rough. mcmagic fucked around with this message at 18:00 on Jun 2, 2019 |

Also Lowrie was a waste, and was signed because no one in the Mets front office believed in Jeff McNeil, but McNeil could play. Who knew?

the popes toes posted:here's some D for you I've always been confused about showing bunt. If you're gonna bunt it only works as a surprise, otherwise you get this. She was in a great position regardless of where that ball ended up because bunt was shown before the pitcher even wound up. And even if the batter doesn't bunt, it's not like they have time to swing. You show bunt and you either make contact or you pull it back and you've burned a pitch. It's the most obvious, least effective deke in sports (onside kick notwithstanding.)

Of course they're shopping Bruce and Edwin and whatever else they can sell. https://twitter.com/Phillies/status/1135283795488366592 I’m curious: is that a photoshop swapping out his old cap and uni for the new, or when they take player portraits do they have them wear a green screen cap and jersey they can key out if need be? I secretly hold out a little hope that they have every player take a picture in every uniform just in case, largely because that’s the silliest option.

I like to believe that there's just a portfolio of baseball players wearing green caps and uniforms.

Yeah, its actually super easy to photoshop those. Like the hat brim and uniform neck line are so clean that you can probably do it in 5 or 10 minutes. I still like to imagine everyone has to pose with a green uniform at Spring Training because it makes me laugh.

When Ryon Healy gets back, there is no place for Bruce to play. The Cube is a DH/barely 1B, Edwin is 1B until he gets traded, Healy is 1B, Seager is the 3B. They have an army of outfield bodies. Bruce would probably have gotten DFAed.
