This week we've watched Fury Road, Master and Commander and Edge of Tomorrow. Recs of other well-crafted action movies with efficient stories? Bonus points if it's something that delivers the kind of physical opulence that Mad Max / M & C revels in.

I’m looking for a movie that’s focused on social class and class conflict, preferably from the UK or Western Europe and relatively modern. The more challenging the better.

Any suggestions?
Anything by Ken Loach should fit the bill.

I rather liked Paddy Considine's Tyrannosaur. It's subtle as a brick — but it also hits like one, mainly thanks to the loving tour de force of acting by Colman, Mullan and Marsan.

Finished the first season of The Terror and now I'm looking for something in a similar vein. Not necessarily the supernatural part, but the expedition and the survival elements. I'm thinking naval themed, or space maybe.

It's naval combat, but maybe you'd like Master and Commander.
