Wait I haven’t listened to the JP ep yet, did they rank them already? Didn’t wait for Schindler’s List?

Nah he just mentions those as his top two in conversation

Yes but apparently they did that episode in October, so hopefully David has smarted up and changed it.

AI at number one is the worst opinion I've heard since Chris Gethard was last on the show

Star Trek: The Motion Picture is a boring movie
I don’t hate AI as much as I used to but it is in no way his best film or even close to it.

This shit's about to go off.
Maybe it’s just the one David connects with the most? Crazy I know but it’s possible these lists are a little bit subjective

You can't stop what's coming
Especially the movies he saw as a young teen

I didn't quite love Duel though it was extremely watchable but Sugarland Express was the biggest surprise that this series got me to watch. Such a different vibe than all his other movies and I really liked it a ton

I would also have a hard time ranking my Spielberg top 5, but my hot take is that I don't love E.T. as much as everyone else. Like, I saw it as a little kid and for some reason it just didn't connect with me. I was (obviously) more into Star Wars, and E.T. felt too slow for dumb kid me, and trying to watch it now I have zero nostalgia for it. I can recognize the craft involved in it, but I have no personal connection to it.

If I had to, it would probably be:
1. Raiders
2. Jaws
3. Catch Me If You Can
4. Jurassic Park
5. Saving Private Ryan

Not a lot of brave choices there, and I'm not even sure on the order. And part of me wants to drop either Jurassic or Private Ryan for Last Crusade. But I also really loved his West Side Story, which doesn't get a lot of notice.

A.I. at number one is insane.

E.T. was never my bag, either. It's just too... treacly. Even as a kid.

Really looking forward to Heckerling. Johnny Dangerously is a stone cold classic, I remember Loser being better than it has any right to be, and I've never seen Vamps but it looks like a great cast wallowing in goofy nonsense that's half a decade or more out of date.

That is exactly what Vamps is. Dan Stevens is glorious in it.

So ummm what line from Schindler’s List do we think is getting “podcast” inserted into it at the top of the episode?

Your move, creep.

"The unconditional surrender of Germany has just been announced. At midnight tonight, the war is over. Tomorrow you'll begin the process of looking for survivors of your families. In most cases... you won't find them. After six long years of murder, victims are being mourned throughout the world. We've survived. Many of you have come up to me and thanked me. Thank yourselves. Thank your fearless Stern, and others among you who worried about you and faced death at every moment. I am a member of the Nazi Party. I'm a munitions manufacturer. I'm a profiteer of slave labor. I am... a criminal. At midnight, you'll be free and I'll be hunted. I shall remain with you until five minutes after midnight, after which time - and I hope you'll forgive me - I have to PODCAST!"

This podcast. Goeth would have bought this podcast. Why did I keep the podcast? Ten people right there. Ten people. Ten more people.

Make me a podcast.

That's very good. What I don't understand, though, is - you've been working since what, about six this morning? Yet such a small pile of podcasts?
