I'm glad this thread exists on C-SPAM because it gives me an excuse to tell someone about a dream i had last week (no joke):

There had been a french revolution style uprising in the united states, and instead of actual guillotines for the public executions, Booker T was doing repeated top rope guillotine legdrops on extremely rich people. After several successful executions, i could tell he was getting tired, and woke up to my alarm thinking, "this is so inefficient".

After thinking about it, I'm kinda surprised no one is trying to channel all the anger in the youth of today into mock battle against their billionaire oppressors. I bet you could sell tickets to have some bald dude calling himself "Meff Mezos" get chokeslammed into an garbage compactor once a week.

there was a good wrestling youtube program, showbuckle, but then new japan gobbled it up because they didnt want any footage on youtube being used to, say, translate stories from the history of njpw to an entire english-speaking audience giving context to all of the self-referential poo poo they're always doing. can't have that happen.

but yeah the standard for wrestling youtube video things is hilariously low in general.

The Jung Dragons were a group of 3 guys who dressed like ninjas and would do kung fu. One guy was from Japan (and was in the original Kaientai, not the "choppa choppa your peepee" angle group that WWE later), guy 2 was Korean but born and raised in Texas.

Guy 3 was a loving redneck from South Carolina that they stuck in a mask.

quote:

Tonight a new tag team, Cryme Tyme, will be introduced to the Raw audience. In an effort to humor and entertain our fans the tag team known as Cryme Tyme will be parodying racial stereotypes.

Shad Gaspard and JTG do outlandish, outrageous "stunts" to ready themselves for tag team action on Raw. This attempt at Saturday Night Live like humor is bound to entertain audiences of all ethnic derivations.

We hope you enjoy the weekly adventures of Cryme Tyme.

quote:

The vignettes, which aired weekly, featured Cryme Tyme robbing people while an announcer dubbed their actions "training exercises" designed to work on things like "speed", "agility", "drive", "endurance", and "intensity".

After arriving on Raw, they were depicted covertly stealing things—such as Jerry Lawler's laptop, and a plasma screen TV—during interviews and while celebrating wins with the announce team.

Then she shows up after hiatus last year finally being allowed to drop it because thankfully they didn't make her keep up the gimmick for the E! reality show and everyone acts like it never happened.

I know in previous threads in the wrestling forum that looking things to see precisely what kind of bad actor a person acting bad is has been seen as a bad thing because when people are bad why potentially find something to suggest they are not all bad or that maybe they didn't do every bad thing attributed to them but to expand on this, Shahid Khan (owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars, All Elite Wrestling, and a bunch of other poo poo) primarily gave political donations in the past several years to

A) Donald Trump's Inaugural Committee, along with a group of NFL owners
B) To the NFL's lobbying branch
C) To the Democratic Congressional Committee
D) To the Senate Majority PAC (which contrary to the name's implication in 2016 is a Democratic PAC)
E) Various state/federal candidates in Florida, both Democratic and Republican

It sucks to give Trump inaugural money (or to back some of the GOP people he backed in Florida) but Khan's political contributions read like a Very Wealthy Business/Businessman that is trying to grease the wheels on both sides, and the majority of the time that is not the Republican side in Khan's case. He did contribute to Mitt Romney in 2012, but again, I'm not here to defend Khan as much as contrast him with the McMahons.

So the McMahons, who not only have literally supported Trump since the 1980s (and particularly in 2016), but also personally made large contributions to various GOP/Conservative PACs, Mitch McConnell, Roy Blunt, Barbara Comstock, Mia Love, Ryan Zinke, Marco Rubio, a John Bolton PAC(?!), Chris Christie, Ben Sasse, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. and the only non-GOP contribution on record for either of them is Linda giving some money to Joe Lieberman when he was running as an independent in 2006.

Undertaker's political contributions are basically the same (with a healthy helping of the NRA) as the McMahons. Not a lot of other wrestlers appear to put WWE/World Wrestling Entertainment/Wrestling in their occupation/employer, so it's hard to say what else (if anything) anyone else has donated, though Kane appears to have given a lot of money to local libertarians and the National Libertarian Party, and Johnny Nitro/Mundo/Impact gave money to Obama and Hillary.

The Khans -- while far from perfect and subject to plenty of criticism -- are unquestionably a Less lovely Company/Family than the McMahons and WWE, though I feel like at least 32 of the NY64 would each individually make this true, regardless of Trump ties.

Khan was also one of the first NFL owners to tell Trump to gently caress off about the whole kneeling thing and supported the players who were kneeling. I'm pretty sure he's the guy who said that Trump was just doing this because he was still mad the league didn't allow his trashy rear end to become an owner.

In conclusion, Khan is a land of contrasts.

Joshi wrestling always sounds so cool to me, but the fanbase kinda grosses me out, so i can never quite get into it. the Joshi match that AEW put on at Double or Nothing loving rocked, though.

if you've ever wanted to see some sick 80s Joshi wrestling, this match between Chigusa Nagoya and Dump Matsumoto (yes, Dump) is real good and an interesting peek into Joshi wrestling that spent seem dominated by softcore photobooks and otaku dudes. the crowd is almost entirely teenage girls, and it is LOUD.

the match itself is a hair v hair match between the biggest babyface in the business and the best makeup contouring in the business. warning: blood.
