There's a David Bowie live album (maybe bootleg I guess) called serious moonlight that's like from a concert in France after let's dance came out and it has I think at least two sax players on every song so you get to hear like what would scary monsters be like with a sax solo etc anyway I dunno if any of it is on YouTube but I love it

Seriously guys this is not how you saxophone. Please see Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, or the late Dave Matthews band sax player guy. I appreciate you guys bringing the light to the instrument I love so much, but that Bruce Springsteen and friends, blast as loud as you can into a brass mouthpiece, until the sound becomes course and lovely, is not the saxophone sound that needs to come back.

Here's another, in a similar vein in terms of circular breathing and extended technique, but taken to the extreme. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T690rDJ7c80 Besides miking his sax, he puts microphones on the instrument to pick up the mechanical noises and slaps of the pads to create a percussion accompaniment, and then wears a contact mic on his throat to pick up his voice for the melody. Everything he does is done live, he doesn't overdub anything. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Accnyo1inGI

I distinctly remember in elementary school in the 80's, due to this particular Police Academy scene, kids vocalizing that opening sax bit to indicate something or someone was totally gay.

Lol, me too, which is why I posted it. But for some reason, in my head it was this song they played. I was all confused when I watched the clip, but posted it anyway since it still worked. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dU6w56epBdc

gently caress this guy. He's touring round as the "star" of a Dire Straits tribute, claiming he was an original member of the band. Not only was he never a member of the band at all, he didn't even play any of the band's famous sax tracks. Honk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7J4cZ9EXums
