You can get pet insurance, and hollywood has insurance for any animals they regularly use. I'd assume a police dog would fall under either working animal or pet insurance, most likely the former.

Yes but why would you not take the opportunity to double dip? Especially considering insurance companies are terrified of ever denying payouts to conservatives, I point to a spate of negligent/deliberate fires of farm equipment that were blamed on A.N.T.I.F.A. Nebraska, where they again got both an insurance and GFM payout.
