hot take: the first strip of dominic deegan is unironically good. it exposits the core concept (or what was supposed to be the core concept, anyway) with a reasonable lack of heavyhandedness and even manages to extract humour out of the whole beleaguered small town oracle setup without coming off as trying too hard to be funny and quirky. nothing groundbreaking, but perfectly servicable all the same. if you just gave me that strip and no other context, I'd want to read more
