Watching, for example, Miguel Sano actually take a ball is a thing of beauty that I never thought I'd witness. He's recognizing better pitches to swing at, getting deeper into counts, and making better contact. What used to be nerve-wracking is now exciting. If only Javy Baez could learn to do that and stop swinging at pitches that are in loving Bloomington. Same with Schwarber. I cringe every time I look at Baez's slash. .281 average? Cool. .313 on-base?
