Well, hard to complain too much about a 3-0 tournament victory with 5 goals for and 1 goal against. Overall, I liked our attack and our goalkeeping. Our midfield was kind of tragic and our defense didn't feel very consistent. Didn't think Sanchez, Kornieck, Sonnett, or Lynn Williams looked very good. However, Swanson is turning into an absolute dynamo, and I still think a healthy Rose is the most valuable player in women's soccer.

NWSL kicks off tomorrow, with NC Courage hosting KC Current at 2PM EST. Domestically games will still be on Paramount+ with a select few on CBS Sports Network/CBS proper (no more Twitch and their lovely quality ). Internationally games will stream on nwslsoccer.com for free, however the league just announced that games will also be available on DAZN and Tigo. No new teams this year (Utah will be coming back in '24, with Boston and San Fran rumored to be the next additions), no ownership changes during the offseason (gives ALL of the sideeye towards Portland and Chicago) and hopefully no more shithead sex pest coaches. Still got the Challenge Cup, but it will be more interspersed through the season (with some during the WC break in July-August). New this year is the addition of VAR, and I'm sure there will be *no* issues whatsoever with the fact that NWSL matches tend to get the second-rate refs because it's not seen as a prestige assignment. Should be fun.

Obviously this isn't gonna be their average attendance, but if they can hang onto even a third of that audience that's a pretty decent gate: https://twitter.com/sandiegowavefc/status/1639838107033022467 Looks like they're playing at SDSU's stadium, which is 35,000 seats, so they should be able to avoid the problem that soccer clubs playing in NFL sized stadiums have had where even a good turnout of 20k makes the stadium look empty (looking at you, Revs). Average attendance doesn't seem to have skipped a beat since the pandemic, either - it was over 7.3k in 2019 and then set a new high at picked right back up at nearly 7.9k last year.
