 Welcome to the Dethy Memorial Police Academy, a Mafia game for 11 players. This is a variant of Dethy Mafia, which is itself a very dumb variant of Mafia traditionally consisting of one scum and four cops of varying sanities. Because the original Dethy setup is solvable and thus dumb, I have taken the liberty of expanding it, making it much harder to solve and likely even dumber in the process. I make no promises about this game other than "There are cops and scum". Sign up at your own risk. The open setup is as follows: quote:1 Sane Cop, who investigates town as town and scum as scum. Like traditional Dethy, this game is under COP HEAD START rules, in that all players will get an initial investigation before the day starts. There will be no Night 0 kill except as potentially amusing flavor. I will be giving all roles and results via PM. If you do not have PMs, please do not sign up. I'll set up a Google Doc or Discord room for the scum doc/deadchat at some point. If someone wants to beat me to that, that'd be swell. Mafia Rules 1. Don't be a dick. 2. There are no day actions, don't bother faking them. It's an open setup. 3. Don't post when you're dead. One or two  aww, shucks posts are fine, as long as you frame them in or  smilies.4. Try not to lurk. If you can't post, ask for a replacement. If you get probated for more than one day, I will replace or modkill you. 5. It was an ordinary day at the Dethy Memorial Police Academy. No one fell off an obstacle in the teambuilding course, nobody accidentally and/or on purpose discharged their firearm, and the coffee was suitably tepid. Then a scream erupted from one of the dormitories. One of the cadets was lying in the middle of the hallway, his throat cut with a box cutter that was abandoned nearby. Fortunately for the budding cops, they had found a murder weapon. Unfortunately for them, there were no fingerprints to be found. This was murder involving one of their own. Well, two of their own, because one of their own was dead. merk, Town "Technically Correct" Cop, was killed for flavor on Night Zero. It is now DAY ONE. With 11 alive, it takes 6 to lynch, deadline is in 48 hours. Votefinder will be setup later tonight.

Everybody gathered around Mr. Humalong. It seemed obvious that he was the murderer. So they bludgeoned him to death with their truncheons, because the armorer was out to lunch and they couldn't requisition their handguns. After they finished and left Mr. Humalong as a thoroughly beaten corpse, they discovered something unnerving amidst his possessions. It wasn't a knife. It was a copy of the famous self-help book "Going With The Crowd: Why Believing Everything Everyone Else Does Can Be Profitable". Mr. Humalong, Bandwagon Cop, was beaten to death on Day 1! Harold looked a bit confused and said, "I think you all have questions that could be answered by my t-shirt." Harold said this, mind you, as he was being dragged up the stairs and thrown off of the academy's clock tower. He hit the ground with a satisfying 'thud' and ceased moving. A passing janitor noted the body and shrugged, pulling it away to reveal several tin foil hats and a copy of "What To Do When The Government Turns Your Frogs Gay". They were also promptly thrown into the nearest dumpster. Harold Krell, Paranoid Cop, was executed on Day 2! It is now NIGHT 2. Please send your night actions in!

He was surrounded by petri dishes, tiny Ziploc baggies, some tweezers, and several crystals. A now-waterlogged pamphlet titled "The Unseen World of Scum: Detecting Their Presence Via The Healing Power of Crystals" lay next to him. Lumpen, Residue Cop, has been murdered on Night 2! AA backed himself into a corner. "I'm innocent! I know I'm innocent because I know you're all innocent!" he yelled. The remaining cops pulled out their duty weapons and emptied the magazines. After a pause only interrupted by the subtle hiss of smoke rising from warm gun barrels, there was a simultaneous magazine drop and reload, followed by another emptying of the magazine. AA grabbed at what remained of his chest before falling onto the ground. A carefully curated dossier of every person fell to the ground, along with a note entitled "HOW I DID IT". AA, Scum Rolecop, was killed Day 3! It is now NIGHT 3!

The sun rose and the cops were filled with a newfound purpose. And in b-minus's case, bullets. Lots of bullets. He wasn't filled with much blood any more, on account of the bullets. Lying next to him were several loose screws and a deck of cards with exactly 48 cards. Nobody bothered figuring out which cards were missing, the verdict was clear. b-minus1, Insane Cop, was murdered in the night! It is now DAY 3!
