Read the OP and really think about it. Self-copping doesn't have a very good chance of telling you anything useful to the goal of catching Scum, and also leaves you with nothing of value at all to say to Town the next day.

It only makes much logical sense as a thing for Scum to lie about having done, to protect themselves from getting caught in lies about others and being outed by process of elimination, in this setup.

Okay so if you are Town you have narrowed your own role down to SEVEN possibilities, and provided absolutely nothing of any value for us after you flip, at which point we will already know what you were.
If you're Scum you're telling the easiest possible lie to maintain.

Summary: If you are Town, don't self-cop. It's bad.

Well we know for sure that you're not the Sane Cop. If you're the Paranoid Cop then your existence could be valuable, but you are the logical lynch today because we know you are not the Sane Cop. You could be Scum (likelier than anyone else I see), and with anyone else we risk lynching the Sane Cop.

If you are Town, logically and optimally you should self-vote.
If you don't self-vote, then you are even more likely to be Scum, which further justifies my vote on you.

Since there is claimed overlap on Lumpen (Byers says Town and Krell says Town) and Hal (Lumpen says Town and b-minus1 says Scum), Lumpen or Hal would be the most informative lynches for today, right?

The best way to find early patterns is to force overlaps on the same night, your plan spreads us thin and while more comprehensive is slower to solve.
I think having the more distributed and through record is more valuable, especially as the endgame approaches, when a flip of a Sane or Insane Cop then can reveal Scum for sure in a past investigation.

Anomalous Amalgam posted:

. I think we should target the person next below yourself on the roster, going to position 1 if you're last player.
Going with AA's plan makes a relentlessly tightening noose, and if we all agree to a systematic approach it also ties the Scum's hands more in terms of what they can choose to lie about.

Investigate the living person right below you in the roster, and we demand result reports starting with the last-claimers of the previous day.

Just to make it clear, my suggestion for how we cop tonight is we have players 1-5 on the below cop Lumpen, 6-11 cop Hal.

That gives us all the overlap we need on N1 to really make N0 and future results more usable. We also have Krell, GenGirl, and... whomever was third to last today claim first tomorrow so that if they are scum they can't sit and claim at the end of the day two days in a row.

The problem with this is even if we quickly figure out who's the Sane/Insane cops, then we expose them for Scum to kill and they don't have many useful investigations accomplished.

If we step through a distributed pattern, then when the useful Cops are revealed by logoc or flip, they will more likely have catches of Scum in the history.

I think that we're more likely to identify scum via identifying claimed actions that are impossible rather than by the Sane/Insane cop catching one of the scum, so I think we're going about it two different ways. I'm trying to label everyone so that if someone that could only be a Binary cop, say, had the wrong N1 result for Binary, we know they're scum.

My understanding is that the only two cops that matter in your approach is the Sane and Insane cop, and only then after they flip and only for targets they had that are still alive, correct? What if we have a rule that no one can cop the same person twice, giving you a wide net, but still focus people on set targets tonight to get overlap for my approach?

As long as we all can decide on an approach and punish defectors who don't follow the plan, I can go with either.

Maybe we should put it up to a vote?

Option 1: Split between Hal/Lumpen
Option 2: Vote the next living person below you on roster (bottom wrap to top).
