There’s nothing wrong with not wanting to fight in a morally indefensible war. Avoiding a war while being a member of a political party that insists that you are weak and a coward if you don’t fight, however...

Wild T posted:Then give us a huge sum of cash to get started and a fancy statue to boot. Y'all can thank Ben Franklin's penis for that. Franklin was certainly a good, well respected diplomat but the French desire to gently caress over the British was more about hard feelings after they lost the French and Indian War/Seven Years' War. The funniest part of the whole deal was that the French king was basically responsible for radicalizing and training up the same people who would eventually cut his head off. Probably not the outcome he envisioned.

Kurita described the game as "merely an idol action game with a fleet motif". He found the greatest appeal of Kantai Collection to be the "sorrow of the Imperial Japanese Navy" saying that one might cry while playing Kantai Collection but not Azur Lane. ![]()

If so he might have been through “liberation” by Task Force Baum, an ill planned operation Patton kicked off for the express purpose of freeing his son in law. Most other prisoners who escaped, if they did escape, did so in spite of the raid rather than because of it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Task_Force_Baum

UP THE BUM NO BABY posted:lol oh boy how cool. I guess I was wrong as hell about that guy, getting to go to the docks. During wartime. Think of it this way: this was a time when all material was sent overseas on ships and ships alone, and there was so much of it coming into allied ports that a huge bureaucracy was required to manage it. This also allowed plenty of opportunities to steal since who the hell would notice a missing crate if thousands of them are unloaded every hour, every day, for years? The only way to fight the GI's habit of taking what they could was to use the bureaucracy part of the equation to restrict access as tightly as possible. Hence passes became how you got to the docks. This guy managed to get access that amounted to "I can go where I want, when I want, for whatever I want."

They do randomly sample dice for QA but they use the first die they made to determine which ones they test and unfortunately that die is, unbeknownst to them, defective.

Most war movies are propaganda to some degree or another, but I'm especially wary about watching WWII movies by either Russia or Japan.
