B I believe Aisaiya’s story. I think the fear crystals were sabotaged by an enemy. Maybe Sidgar. Also did we just lose time? Is Sidgar here? I wouldn’t expect him to be able to interfere when his name was discussed unless we were inside of his range. Ellen has seemed suspicious of something hiding in Tabletop for a while. Is Aisaiya trying to carry as many souls out of here as she can like a human lifeboat? It makes sense if she’s convinced this whole area is surrounded and doomed otherwise. It’s harder to blame Aisaiya for soul merging when it seems like every Kalista is packed full of souls or soul fragments. Maybe they’re all lifeboats.
