From the last thread about IS and Koei

quote:

That's kind of surprising to hear since Fire Emblem Warriors was insanely mediocre.

It's the team that does the romance kingdom series not the musous, and apparently they did almost everything with only a handful of IS people, so speculation is IS is working on something else.

Yeah it was actually your posts about it that made me skip it on release. I finally got it for free a couple months ago and gave it a try but it's just so unbearably dull I only made it to the second act.

this thread is super down on echoes but the FE thread thought it was pretty good. Thread cultures are weird.

I liked it for what it's worth but it's pretty different from other FEs

Nah, I don't care about that. It's the sketchy way in which Epic gets exclusives and that the existence of their store lives and dies on Fortnite staying popular.

Is EA buying companies and then killing them any less sketchy? Is Valve having a monopoly any less sketchy? Ehhhhh no ethical consumption under capitalism etc.

Like do you not play playstation or xbox games? Because they do the same exclusivity deals?

This isn't really a good comparison though. It's free to download the epic store and the steam store, it isn't free to get a playstation or xbox, so when a company has exclusivity on a console then that means it is aiming for people with a specific console in mind. When it comes to something like the epic store versus valve store, it is generally just seen as a nuisance to not have an easy means of consolidating all of the games you own because now you have to get them from different stores and for people who may have preordered through steam, they now get to sit back and not play a game that is available on their pc if they buy it on another storefront.

To bring it back to console comparisons, imagine you want a ps4 game coming out and so you decide to preorder it, but then someone comes to your home and places a safe next to your ps4 and the safe is set to unlock in exactly 1 year but you can open it early by paying money for the safe code so you can get the copy of the game you already preordered through other means.
