EDIT: I already fell for the mystery prize trap

The 100% most important thing in the sellout shop is the Improved loot filter imo, although you won't truly need it until you hit at least one Titan imo. From what I remember I just barely had enough AP for it by the time I needed it. The regular loot filter is still worth getting as a stopgap until you get there, although I forgot how much exp it costs and how high your energy stats should be before you get it.

After the improved loot filter, however many inventory slots you feel you need followed by accessory slots, and then when you hit 1 energy on all basic training Instant Training Cap is very worthwhile.

Don't worry about lowering your number between rebirths, if you find yourself able to play a bit more actively doing 15/30 minute rebirths for a while will net you a ton of exp.

When you unlock magic, you won't need to buy any more of it with exp for a while, although increasing the speed a bit may still be worthwhile.

I got to the part in Paperclips where drifters wipe out my drones over and over and then I run out of paperclips and have to use memory to buy more. Now I'm at 70k max ops and my swarm has stopped responding, and I can only reboot my swarm by paying 100k ops, but I can only get 100k ops by rebooting my swarm. Is there a way out of this hell or did I softlock the game?

Iirc it is possible to get stuck, but it never happened to me. You can either cheat in some resources to get just past the hump, or maybe scale down your operation to get back into a loop you can sustain.

Tunahead

Cheating looks like a major hassle and scaling down my operation doesn't actually do anything to increase my max ops, which I have to do, but can't. Guess I'll just call it quits.

I've had a point where all my drones died to drifters cause I wasn't paying attention but it _should_ be possible to build them up again even if there's, say, 300 billion drifters. Just don't put anything into defense and let your drones build up normally, the battles only take a certain percentage of your drones away so you'll still grow exponentially.
Or do you mean you ran out of everything so completely that you cannot even buy your first drone to start the replication?

It's an entirely operations-based problem. I can't get weapons for my drones, or any upgrades, really, because I don't have enough max ops. There are only upgrades with 100k+ operation costs and nothing else, and I have 70k max ops. No upgrades, no progress. I can't get more max ops because my thinking swarm has stopped thinking and it requires ops to reboot them and my ops are 30k lower than the required amount of ops to start getting more max ops. I still have resources for drones, and I got the settings balanced enough that they can kind of self-sustain, but nothing will ever happen again, as no upgrades are available, and never will be.

It doesn't matter much anyway though, as I didn't like Paperclips that much anyway, and so I started Bitburner, and it's all terminal commands and scripts and I love everything about it.

If you have bosses to kill to unlock a zone/titan you want to be in in adventure, wandoos can sometimes get you there. In almost all cases NGU is a better use of energy though as the levels are permanant and carry through rebirths/work in (most) challenges

I reinstalled the app Idle Kingdom Clicker. It's a hex based civ building Android game. I quit playing last year because all there was to do was reset for bigger numbers.

Well there's a tech tree now and you can actually unlock tech to get on new tiles you couldn't before and new buildings etc

The cheapest tech is literal days before it unlocks. So I bounce over to the discord and ask about if I'm doing something wrong and I'm not. The mechanic is just based around having been continually resetting for the last year when there was no other content. The discord crew over there doesn't understand that's bad, dumb, and needs rebalanced. Coming in from only haveing 200k prestige points it's going to still be multiple real life days to get the cheapest upgrade. But it's fine. This is a good mechanic and doesn't need rebalanced at all.

That's how a lot of idle games are, devs with h a vision and a small community with a few gently caress you got mine people being in control.

I mean it's kind of games in general, but idle games are the most likely to have a dev that will just keep releasing new content for a year with players actually sticking around the entire time tracking up resources.

I've gotten to the point in Antimatter Dimensions where I broke infinity and got all of my challenges down to below 1.5 seconds, I have all the auto buyers upgraded, and as far as I can tell the only way now to increase my IP/sec is tweaking the rebirth cycles? I'm sure I'm doing something wrong or don't fully understand some of the mechanics but right now I'm not playing the game at all for 1-2 day stretches while I build up enough IP to get one upgrade and then wait another couple of days to build it up again. I was really into the game at the start, trying to get all the auto buyers and finding out how fast I could do an IP run but now that it's just optimizing the autobuyer settings I'm pretty much done with it. Things really built to a crescendo after breaking infinity and then dropped off a cliff entirely.

Normal challenges, I haven't unlocked the infinity challenges yet so maybe that's what I'm doing wrong?

Also, check if a quick Crunch is really the most profitable you can do. Let a run go for around ~5min and see what the peak IP/min you reach is, then set your autobuyer to cut it at that point. At this point, you have a Statistics option that shows your last 10 infinities - as well as other info - that helps with the balancing.

Yeah, I am playing that on mobile (though it apparently has slightly higher production on mobile) and I was there a few days ago, but I did not have to take several days. You should have a Galaxy auto-buyer - my recommendation is to do what Samuringa suggested; let the Galaxy auto-buyer buy as many as it can, let dimension boost go hog wild, and see what your "peak" IP/min in the current Infinity is. Figure out how many total IP you are at when that peak number appears and set your Big Crunch there. Your runs should probably be a lot shorter - I found that after a while, my Big Crunch numbers settled to be around how much IP I got right after my last Galaxy and all of the quickly-bought Boosts.

Infinity Challenges are a reasonable way off - you'll really take off on IP generation once you get some of the infinity upgrades.

If you want some more specific help, you could always take a look at this guide on the Wiki, which is pretty helpful (but obviously a little spoilery if you want to figure it out yourself)

Also, definitely this:

Thanks for the help, I do have some infinity upgrades already purchased, I was able to save up 2e7 IP with enough time so I have the first 3 of the two columns purchased already. I think I have to separate myself from thinking that faster runs = better gains. I guess I'm not even really positive what it is I'm doing that makes the IP go up and why longer runs would make that happen.

"Short runs: Automatic Dimboosts set to 0/10, Automatic Galaxies set to 1, Automatic Big Crunch set to how much you make in 0.5-1.5 seconds. "

I see stuff like this on the guide you posted which kind of helps but I don't quite understand the "Dimboosts 0/10" part. Is that "Max 8ths - 0 / galaxies required 10"? I feel like I am setting them up according to those recommendations and nothing happens.

You've got it right. "Max 8ths" is the maximum number of 8th dimensions to spend on Boosting automatically and "Galaxies Required" is the number of galaxies at which the Max setting gets ignored. Right now setting it to 0/10 but on means it will do all of the Shifts to unlock new dimensions automatically but it won't buy any Boosts until you have 10 antimatter galaxies (right now, that's effectively never). The idea is that Boosts currently don't increase your IP/min, so you're better off not buying any.

Eventually your multipliers will increase and you'll unlock the ability to buy Boosts in bulk, at which point this will change pretty significantly.
