We got an Extra Mission this week. Nothing more annoying than future vision that only works when it feels like it. https://www.viz.com/shonenjump/spy-x-family-chapter-120-1/chapter/47225?action=read https://mangaplus.shueisha.co.jp/viewer/1026103?timestamp=1754234919888

It does have the minor reveal that Handler's dog (and potentially other Project Apple dogs) might also have future vision.... or maybe they just freak out sometimes because they're whiners who want a big meal

Chapter 121 In which Mrs Desmond assures Yor that the urge to lick every last bit clean is perfectly natural.

|
|
|
She uses a spoon, dang it!

Jokes aside, I'm legit curious what the readings from Yor meant. Are they referencing past events or future ones? And how will the friendly old science grandpa neighbor fit into all this because those were some big lore drops Melinda handed over.

Most important takeaway from this chapter is Yor doin' a little victory hop

Yor and Anya continue to be way better at Loid's job.

I'm seriously liking Melinda. She turned out to be a great friend for Yor and is actually kinda fun herself. I hope she ends this series in a good place.

Yor and Melinda have a really nice friendship. I know we all knew that grandpa was involved in something shady, but it's nice to get confirmation!!

Yeah, I think the big question now is whether his memory loss is natural or whether it's part of something more sinister

The funny thing about Yor's situation is that, under normal circumstances, she would be 100% correct to worry about her real career being a deal-breaker. The only reason it won't be is that her husband happens to have his own secret career that also involves violence.

it's not that she's an assassin, necessarily. the difficult part is that yor is an assassin who belongs to an organization which is directly opposed to loid.

We don't necessarily know that Garden is opposed to Loid though. I mean, they would definitely frown on a foreign spy agency being in the nation (and probably try to kill Loid before he could explain himself), but they've been shown to be kinda wary about the Desmonds too.

I'm saying it would be a huge issue if Loid were a "normal" person, like his cover identity is. It's only because he also has a secret extreme/violent career that he'll end up being okay with that in the end (even though there'll obviously be some conflict/drama related to the organizational conflict before that happens).

And it's established that while they kind of work together, GARDEN and the current Ostanian government would probably prefer not to due to ideological differences

Yeah you have east and west germany at odds with each other, and then here's these assassin weirdos whose loyalty lies with the Holy Roman Emperor

Tunicate posted:Seems more like his symptoms come and go to me Yeah, that's a very real thing with folks with dementia. They really ebb and flow. The most interesting thing I see personally would be his seeming totally having a blank space about Donovan Desmond in particular since he seems to still remember Melinda pretty well. It could lead credence to the theories that Donovan's power goes beyond Anya's simple thought reading into actually being able to gently caress with people's heads. Hell, maybe Authen's dementia isn't even natural and instead it's a result of Donovan hitting him with a real super-whammy. Ytlaya posted:And it also sorta counters Anya, since he genuinely doesn't know things at times (though it's a bit weird to me that she didn't "hear" anything suspicious during the meeting). Might have just been that Anya wasn't listening at the right time. It seems like over the course of the series her hearing thoughts is kinda random unless she's actively trying. Or dead since that's the usual cliche.
