We got an Extra Mission this week. Nothing more annoying than future vision that only works when it feels like it.

It does have the minor reveal that Handler's dog (and potentially other Project Apple dogs) might also have future vision.... or maybe they just freak out sometimes because they're whiners who want a big meal :dogcited:

In which Mrs Desmond assures Yor that the urge to lick every last bit clean is perfectly natural.

Jokes aside, I'm legit curious what the readings from Yor meant. Are they referencing past events or future ones? And how will the friendly old science grandpa neighbor fit into all this because those were some big lore drops Melinda handed over.

I remember when she first appeared and everyone including myself was wary of her but now I really hope things play out well for her.

well, I suppose if they don't, no amount of psychic power in the world is gonna stop Yor from tearing Donovan a new rear end in a top hat

Yeah, I think the big question now is whether his memory loss is natural or whether it's part of something more sinister

The funny thing about Yor's situation is that, under normal circumstances, she would be 100% correct to worry about her real career being a deal-breaker.

The only reason it won't be is that her husband happens to have his own secret career that also involves violence.

it's not that she's an assassin, necessarily. the difficult part is that yor is an assassin who belongs to an organization which is directly opposed to loid.

We don't necessarily know that Garden is opposed to Loid though. I mean, they would definitely frown on a foreign spy agency being in the nation (and probably try to kill Loid before he could explain himself), but they've been shown to be kinda wary about the Desmonds too.

I'm saying it would be a huge issue if Loid were a "normal" person, like his cover identity is. It's only because he also has a secret extreme/violent career that he'll end up being okay with that in the end (even though there'll obviously be some conflict/drama related to the organizational conflict before that happens).

yeah imo the poacher arc indicated that while the garden is nominally in service of ostania, their real loyalty is to the predecessor imperial govt rather than the current parliamentary govt

not a lot to indicate they're trying to revive that prior gov't so far, but if they are i think their goals and loid's are fairly aligned for now

And it's established that while they kind of work together, GARDEN and the current Ostanian government would probably prefer not to due to ideological differences

The fact that he's still fully aware and not suffering from dementia was the huge kicker, same for still being in on "the plan". Man, two big events back to back between this and Ichi is wild.

Yeah, that's a very real thing with folks with dementia. They really ebb and flow. The most interesting thing I see personally would be his seeming totally having a blank space about Donovan Desmond in particular since he seems to still remember Melinda pretty well. It could lead credence to the theories that Donovan's power goes beyond Anya's simple thought reading into actually being able to gently caress with people's heads. Hell, maybe Authen's dementia isn't even natural and instead it's a result of Donovan hitting him with a real super-whammy.

Might have just been that Anya wasn't listening at the right time. It seems like over the course of the series her hearing thoughts is kinda random unless she's actively trying.

the page turn to the incredibly hatched thousand yard stare was not how I expected things to go. But I wonder if his dementia is a product of his research and maybe, if we'll find out that the other people working on the project are equally mentally compromised. Or dead since that's the usual cliche.

The way his wife looks out the window before guessing that he's getting that feeling again has me wondering if his condition is at all similar to the lunar cycle affecting Anya's telepathy. Nothing saying it has to be anything more than her having a realization as she turns, but it does spark some idle curiosity since we still don't know the extent of Donovan's possible powers, should he have any.
