You know there's gotta be a least a couple chapters at some point where Loid and Yor know know each other's secrets but are working together comically to keep all this from Anya.

Electric Phantasm posted:Endou's Editor: You can have a little darkness as a treat Because of the precise timing of the chapter's ending I'm leaning towards the bomb collar being a bluff. So Anya will know she's in no greater danger than anyone else, but will try to use this info to make herself look super brave a cool in front of everyone.

Entirely possible Yor killed all scientists.

I went back and checked the previous chapter in light of these new details, and the way she's thinks of Damian as a burden and wishes he'd died has lead me to two thoughts: 1. We know Damian has an older brother, right? Do we know that they have the same mother, or is it possible that she's Donovan's second wife? 2. Given the way she directs her hatred at Damian specifically I can't help but wonder his conception was non-consensual. Not that I expect the Jump editors to let any details on that matter make it to print.

Omnicrom posted:definitely doesn't have any significant intel so she'd be a waste of time to interrogate. The fact that there's an embassy means Westalia and Ostania have actual diplomatic relations, so the secret police can't just go grabbing and interrogating Westalian diplomats, no matter how low-ranking they are. That means they have to have hard evidence of espionage before they can touch her. Which they're already trying their damnedest to get, of course. So really, nothing about her cover identity could possibly draw more attention than "Westalian working at the Westalian embassy." They already have every reason to suspect she's a spy, they just can't do anything without proof.

Ostania is clearly capitalist. Westalis is a socialist utopia.

Fat and Useless posted:I think Damian will eventually come to believe her on his own in time. She's done the correct guess thing a bunch around him and he seems sharp enough to start adding it up or at the very least from now on he'll notice. Mark my works Anya's gun on the table will come into play when Damian needs her to do something important down the road. Odds are if Damian ever comes to believe Anya can read minds, he'll also put together that she knew the bomb collars were fake the whole time, destroying one of the things he actually respects about her.

I do think this flashback has potential to give us some more insight into Desmond's deal, and also sets up two possible allies for Team Peace when poo poo really starts to hit the fan.

Getting the feeling Mr. Desmond runs his life on the idea that all words could be lies, and so non-verbal (and indeed psychic) communication is best. And this is the result for everyone else.

doomrider7 posted:I've been of the thought that he can read peoples emotions and feelings hence why he's so distant and aloof. He doesn't that Loid is a spy, but he can sense that he has some ulterior motive, but not the why. Even if Donovan had psychically read that Loid was trying to use his daughter's enrollment in the school and relationship with Damian to get close to Donovan, that would be completely expected and not even something you'd need psychic powers to guess at.

Calling it now: This is where the older kids go to make out. Damian will realize this and become extremely embarrassed; Anya will have no clue.
