EL BROMANCE posted:I'm also not really sure why she decided to screw Tex over unless I didn't catch something. Surely she could have everything she would be getting via Bash if his bid was accepted, without all the drama? Not really--the last scene with her and Tex was Tex telling her he wanted to keep her out of his business deals and would never view her as a partner. That was a deal-breaker for Deb, who was already getting ambitious and thought of herself as part of a burgeoning power couple.

Deb is all about her getting what she wants in the moment, and in that moment she wanted respect. She acted extremely rationally but she’s always been competent, but she’s usually been distracted.

lost my old email posted:real intrigued by that last conversation betwixt beth and crazy face lady, no idea here they are going futurewise which one is Beth? I really liked Sheila this season. I liked her in the previous seasons too, but she was more of a kooky background character instead of a character in her own right. I understood what she meant when she said being the “she-wolf” was getting in her way or holding her back. Now she can be Liza and Miss Julie and Sheila

I think JJ was saying that she wasn’t his partner currently, not that she would never be one. She had assumed that her training was usually beneficial instead of just him trying to spend time together without jeopardizing his business.

I guess we can assume that Glow is picking up the boobie quota void that Orange is the new black has left open in the Netflix lineup.

lost my old email posted:gently caress i meant ruth It's the classic, "We don't know for sure if we are gonna get another season or which of our cast members will return" cliffhanger. Make it look like half the characters are going their different directions, but also not a full "gently caress you" break up of the characters so they can easily be written back together.

For all the setup with the casino and Geena Davis' character, and setting up the AIDS benefit, once Bash pulled out of his agreement and ruined the casino, was there any reaction/apologies/guilt by anybody? They got all these life lessons dropped on them by these folk and their boss just put them all out of work, and next thing you know they're at the airport. I mean hey it's showbiz, but it seemed kind of abrupt writing-wise. Wonder if Maron's recent movie roles tied him up and necessitated him splitting for the L.A. stuff. I do feel sorry for Tex. I can't imagine anything sadder than a sad Toby Huss. Overall I enjoyed it, but it just took a strange turn the last couple episodes.

The heavy topics they hit on this season simply were not well suited for the number of or length of the episodes. It's like they had a list of issues/topics they wanted to hit and they felt they were running out of time/episodes, so they just cranked through them as fast as possible. With the clusterfuck of Debbie wanting to produce more (and becoming a network president), Rhonda becoming a millionaire and Bash's money manager (along with that whole wife predicament), Tamme being the don king of glow, and the seemingly problematic element of Ruth not being fulfilled by her part in the wrestling show and not being interested in directing it either (while being the headline star of the netflix series) .... they totally need to recruit more able bodies to actually wrestle. lost my old email posted:but if they don't bring back machu pichu i riot

I finally started watching this series with the wife (thanks coronavirus) and we both really like it. This is like one of the two streaming shows where I don't instantly fall asleep within two minutes of the title card. The entire cast is great and you can really feel their confidence growing with each season, just like I'd imagine a real professional wrestling production would be. Well anyway, looking forward to the fourth season.

loving sucks. They had already filmed a whole episode before COVID-19 shut them down, and Netflix doesn't want to keep paying for it while the studios are closed.

What bullshit. It can't be that hard or expensive of a show to produce. Gives us the final season. Fucksake.

At the very least do a Sense8 and give us a movie to wrap things up. Ruth deserves a happy ending

SLICK GOKU BABY posted:What bullshit. It can't be that hard or expensive of a show to produce. Gives us the final season. Fucksake. It is a pretty expensive show, and a difficult one to produce. Large cast, period piece, lots of physical exertion and close contact between cast members during a pandemic, etc. However, I am still mad and would happily wait until 2022, which Netflix thinks wouldn't happen for most of the audience.

The show was also filmed in LA, which is way more expensive than, say, Canada or Georgia.

Yeah, but it's not like the cast has anything on their plates for the next foreseeable months. All productions are pretty much stopped, and with such a quality show I would expect Netflix would use their truckloads of money to at least keep it viable for 2022. Here's to hoping that Cobra Kai makes them realize that there's lots of potential on 1980's fighting drama comedies.
