is fmw OK for a touhou megafan but also somebody who has not played a single srw?

You might be unable to understand the Nadeisco reference from Lily Black's theme but otherwise you will probably be ok. Though, I wouldn't recommend playing on Hard.

Normal+ is the games default difficulty. It can be changed any time in an intermission so feel free to experiment

I find it extremely funny that in chapter 10 a character appears that even the main characters are legit scared of her, her stats are through the roof, and they stress that you do not need to fight her at all. So of course the bonus objective is to fight her 3 times I have no real familiarity with Touhou (though I do have Mountain of Faith on the backburner, as well as Labyrinth of Touhou), but this is real good. EDIT: Okay, maybe not that high but her HP sure is. Unlucky7 fucked around with this message at 07:25 on Nov 3, 2025 |

Shizuha has been an unexpected MVP so far her support and assist attacks hit insanely hard with her personal skills.

Redmark posted:I started on Normal+ and the game seems pretty brute-forceable so far, though I'm not very far in (second Cirno stage). Does it get a lot harder later on or should I just switch to Hard? Normal+ can definitely be brute-forced by dumping all your upgrade points into your favorite characters. Hard also can, but you'll need to understand game mechanics like support attacks and build people properly. Lunatic is really hard.

SyntheticPolygon posted:I'd say a lot of that stuff started formulating from PCB. EoSD and its characters are very self-contained but then next game you get Yuyuko's situation and Yukari, a mysterious Youkai Sage with deep ties to the setting (and a mysterious lookalike character from a music CD releasing the same year), and it starts creating the idea that Touhou and Gensokyo have like stuff going on that isn't just what we see in game. And that's followed with IN with the new characters all connected to some moon nonsense that isn't directly related to anything going on in the game. I believe ZUN has said in an interview or something somewhere that IN was when he really started thinking about Gensokyo as a setting (most notable perhaps with Keine, who introduces a lot of concepts like the Human Village even though that has nothing to do with the game), and then he went on to codify these in PMiSS.

Question about ch 11: for Remilla’s final spell card, is it that she gains the stat bonus from attacking a character on a danmaku tile, or does she gain it by standing on a danmaku tile herself? Or is it both? In any case I am very thankful for the turn auto saves and will be going back to save at least one bomb for that final phase because the attack she gets is scary as heck.

For my D&D Curse of Strahd campaign I'd like suggestions for some spooky music from Touhou, preferably instrumental/off vocal. I'd love suggestions for sufficiently "moody" or "slow" versions of Remilia's and Flandre's themes if anyone's got suggestions. I think Youtube's search just isn't giving me what I'm looking for.

These arrangements vary in tempo and heaviness but might work for your purposes (the first two are versions of Remilia's theme, the third and fourth are Flan's): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6fmP3qB7rM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cn6uA8exEUQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aT-PP8hCck https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAHtpLHRTgk

I'll take a look! Also to clarify I am also open to other themes/suggestions; Flan/Remi are just two who just immediately come to mind as possibly fitting for spooky D&D, if you happen to know of any others that might fit the bill, feel free to share.

I don't follow a lot of the remix/cover scene but I feel like Zanmu's theme probably lends itself well to what you want https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U20T8KmYmU0. Not sure if it's still too high tempo for what you have in mind, but I think it's pretty moody. The erhu in particular kind of gives a spooky flair too.

The bonus objective for shooting down Sanae in the second fight with her seems unlikely to occur

Update: I have prevailed using the power of putting half my points from the previous fights into reimu’s weapon level

FMW Chapter 49 Sorry guys, really love and appreciate the work you've been putting in for years, but I absolutely am not calling it Natural Fantasy.
