Mike is a super common cat name in Japan, btw. It sort of makes her sound like she's just someone's pet cat. Edit: Anyway, the cards actually seem to be like super game-changing things like "you can't run into enemies anymore, but you lose more power when you die" or "you lose 2 bombs instead of a life when you die". I found the profiles: Mike is a manekineko, but since she's calico instead of white she was ostracized by the others. She tried dyeing her fur before but now she's rebellious against the very idea of being a manekineko. This means her power is incomplete: she can invite money or customers but never both at once.  Takane is a yamawaro (mountain kappa), who have a huge rivalry with the kappa but are almost exactly the same. They are specialized for life in the forest though. While kappa are better at manufacturing, yamawaro are better at finance, so ideally they would work together. Kappa call yamawaro monkeys while yamawaro call kappa frogs (amphibians). Takane is kinda like the leader of the yamawaro, but it seems to be an informal position.  Sannyo is a mountain courtesan(?) who runs a popular casino on youkai mountain. She has the power to manipulate emotions with her tobacco smoke, but the example given is that she uses it to calm her customers down before they ruin themselves with gambling. It's a high-class joint and people gave her the friendly nickname of Dayuu.

Wasn't there a story in one of the mangas about the yamawaro fighting against the kappa? Or am I just thinking of when the kappa held that war exhibition? Either way, characters look cool and cards are even better than I though they'd be.

A bunch of Kappa joined the Yamawaro, but then the Yamawaro got blamed for attacks on humans (actually some immature animal youkai. but Reimu slapped them around anyway).

Seems to be a common thread that they're all related to business/finance (manekinekos bring fortune to businessess, a type of kappa that specializes in finace, a casino owner). Maybe one of the Seven Lucky Gods will appear/be the final boss? We do have Shou as an avatar of Bishamonten already.
