I'm going to quote all the things from that Raw recap I can find that don't sound intentionally aggressively bad, and outright sound correctly booked

quote:

Bayley defeated Nikki Cross in a singles match.

An exhaustive list

Smackdown was pretty solid. Not mindblowing but it was still a good show. I'm enjoying most of the angles to some extent and really loving the tournament matches.

I could easily see Ali, Gable, or Cedric winning KotR, and at the very least they'll all be able to get themselves over with the crowd. They've handled the cruiserweight drafts for very well.

Sami and Shinsuke make a fun duo, people say Sami is being underutilized, but so is the vast majority of the roster. There's only so many spots in the top card and, for the most part, everyone currently there is more than deserving of it. Sami absolutely excels as a cowardly heel manager.

The 24/7 title is being treated as a joke, as the comedy title should be, and the trio of Maverick, Truth, and Elias have been doing great work carrying it with tons of fun cameos peppered in throughout.

The Roman Reigns mystery arc is dumb and cheesey in a very entertaining way. Roman is actually over right now which is a miracle, and he's been handling his part very well. I don't need to tell you how good Daniel Bryan is.

I could do without another Orton storyline, but he's as solid a heel as ever and Kofi remains wonderful.

Lacey and Bayley put on a solid match, there wasn't anything really bad about it.

People love to complain constantly and dogpile people who suggest that the show might be decent, but the show is in a pretty good spot right now. Take a break from watching wwe if you can't stand it. Watching 5 hours of programming every monday and tuesday is going to wear out its welcome quick and you'll just wind up being annoyed and jaded. You can stay perfectly caught up with the youtube highlights and the wonderful writeups in the thread every week. Tune in when you're in the mood, maybe catch it on hulu when you have some free time, or don't. My enjoyment skyrocketed when I took a break and started watching it on my own terms.

The "copy/paste wreddit posts verbatim" thread is here https://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3622495 If it's any consolation, I would have fell for it too if it weren't for the half about Drake, Reigns and Lacey, and then the whole last paragraph obviously was the point where it all came together as overkill. I feel like comics are cool but no one really cares about super hero comics. The media around it is obviously popular but not the actual comics.

They seem to have done their best sales (between regular comics, digital, and graphic novels) last year compared to any other year https://www.comicsbeat.com/report-comics-and-graphic-novel-sales-had-their-best-year-ever-in-2019/, although obviously that was boosted significantly by the MCU in general getting people interested in the medium again

I can't speak about quality, the only one I've bought at all this decade has been Green Lantern and it's been meh lately :negative:

drat, I don't know what might be funnier

Knowing they're shook enough by AEW they think loving Enzo and Cass would be a bigger ratings draw for them in 2019 than anything AEW could air counter to it

Or the thought Enzo and Cass might actually say no to HHH if he lowballs them

hey i don't pay attention much but is there any reason to believe paul heyman books wrestling well? as far as i know his accomplishments are "could tell brock lesnar and cm punk were good wrestlers"

Basically same as Bischoff: you're hoping he can stay out of his own way for the bad, you're hoping the good is still around, and you're hoping the more recent bad (for Bischoff, TNA; for Heyman, everything he had them do with Brock for the last 4 years) was just a fluke

Moxley turned down like a million dollars because he wanted to enjoy wrestling again, and he was actually getting consistent TV time

The idea that everyone loves money more than actually getting to do stuff they enjoy, and getting to enjoy it, has been wrong for a long long long time. Even if it's 98%, it's not 100% and shouldn't be assumed as such every time

poo poo, it's not even a WWE-exclusive thing. Kylie Rae just basically quit the whole business and she had just gotten a big-paying AEW deal like months before. Do what makes you happy, do what's best for you, do what feels right for you; that's not always what makes you financially set for life
