He's going to try to stick it out, but I can't imagine he will succeed at this point. Kotick was yelling today about how dare any one question his extreme personal commitment to being the most inclusive company ever and that's beyond laughable and just seems like desperate flailing. Notably, too, this is the Oneal promotion (which itself was a massive CYA move, despite Oneal by all accounts being awesome) blowing up back in his face after it came out that even she was being paid less than her male co-president counterpart

Yeah when he lowered his salary to minimum wage or w/e I think it was clear that the calculus had changed. How long that and this takes to turn into anything tangible though is anyone's guess. Hopefully they can gut the rest of the senior leadership in the process. If they don't toss out anyone who did even a whiff of drunken sexual harassment or covered for it then it'll just be another couple months before the cycle repeats itself. I'm not optimistic that the thorough house cleaning will happen, but even kotick going down would be very significant.

There is no reason to pay her less than him other than sexism. In fact, O'Neal has direct experience running a game studio, so she was arguably a better fit for the role than Ybarra.
