As an aside, since this keeps getting mentioned: suffering from mental illness is not correlated with being an abuser, and neither is being the survivor of abuse. They both fail even the most cursory of sniff tests if you know anything about either abuse survivor or mental illness statistics but they continue to be two incredibly pervasive myths that get bandied around whenever this stuff comes up. An abuser's value system is what is unhealthy, not their psychology.

Additionally, abusers have famously bad recidivism rates and traditional therapy (which is to say any therapy that is not specifically aimed at abusers) will often do absolutely nothing to stop then from being abusive and can in many cases actually make them worse.

I literally just got home twenty minutes ago and doing Mod Stuff on my phone is difficult to impossible. Sorry. I also admit that this thread can be a really tough read for me personally sometimes, and sometimes I just have to put it down and do something else for a bit, which can be a problem when the thread is moving so quickly. It would be my strong preference that people report the really flagrantly gross stuff instead of piling on for pages and pages. It's a bunch of garbage, I agree that it's a bunch of garbage, it can be fun to kick the garbage over and set it on fire, but then you have a thread that could be a useful place to talk about serious problems in the industry turn into dunking on the dude making the same tired, lazy GamerGate talking points we've all seen before.
